After 2 months traveling in South America without eating any Asian food, Sheng Xing was like a Cantonese OASIS. Walking in, I immediately noticed that the waitstaff were speaking in Cantonese with Cantonese customers! HELLOMYPEOPLE! I was there for dimsum and had: 1) Char Siu Bao — big fluffy buns with sweet pork filling. The texture of the bao and the flavor of the pork filling were on point! 2) Har Gow — decent sized dumplings with translucent skin and nicely cooked shrimp! 3) Law Mai Gai — sticky rice filled with chicken and pork, wrapped and steamed inside a lotus leaf. This was very well-prepared! 4) Don Tot — these were still warm when they were served; the crust was flaky and the custard filling was sweet and eggy. Everything was legit and so good! Dimsum here definitely satisfied my craving, and I found the price tag to be fair. They also serve other Cantonese dishes(steamed fish, roast duck, Chinese veggies), and they all looked very good. I’m already planning to come back later this week!

«One of the closest restaurants to real Chinese food in Santiago» This is «the» Chinese restaurant, which is often full of Chinese people eating(especially during the weekend!) I have a couple of friends from China who took me here for the first time. They had raved about it and when we came they ordered everything for us(including yummy sweet bread). Although I am not a meat eater, they ordered a pork dish that had me thinking about trying! They also have a variety of dim sum(yum cha) options — even chicken feet! Their prices are reasonable, especially for the quality. I recommend calling beforehand, and asking if they will be open because sometimes they can be booked for private parties(happened to us a couple of time, for Chinese wedding parties). Xeng Shing is a restaurant(like others in Santiago) that has two menus(one for Chileans and one for those who know), so make sure to ask for the Chinese menu. Most of it is in Mandarin so be patient and ask the waiters for recommendations(make sure to try the sweet bread!) The only reason I took off a star is because sometimes their service can be very slow. Overall, very good experience with delicious Chinese food.
