Churros Pepe

There is nothing more mouth watering then a freshly made warm manjar filled churro that literally oozes into your mouth as you eat.
I love the Carrito de Churros it is literally the only place where I will buy a churro in the entire city. Honestly you can buy churros almost everyone in Santiago however they are almost never made fresh. The Carrito keeps it simple, fresh and delicious. I want one right now just thinking about their perfection.
Thier menu is short and sweet (pun intended). You can get one of their big churros filled with manjar or jam, or keep it simple and enjoy some of their little churro sticks covered in powdered sugar (sold by the dozen or half dozen). The car itself looks like a classic 50’s food truck.
Centrally located in Pio Nono so perfect munchie food. The Carrito has been in the same location for years and as long as they keep making those fresh goodies as yummy as they do it’s not going anywhere.

Warm, fresh churros, perfectly soft and fluffy on the inside and goldenly crunchy on the outside. These are the delicious churros of Churros Pepe.
I am not exaggerating when I say that these are the best churros in all of Santiago. I have tried many different places and everywhere else pales in comparison.
Pepe’s, a family run and owned churro truck, is located amidst the hustle and bustle of Pio Nono. The father and son duo set up shop around 5pm everyday and stick around throughout the night making these tiny sticks of golden goodness for their loyal followers… er I mean customers.
I recommend ordering a couple of their 500 peso churros filled with deliciously rich dulce de leche (you also have the option to fill it with a berry jam… don’t do that). If you want a lighter option, you can buy a dozen thinner churros flowered with powdered sugar for $ 1.800 or 6 for $ 1mil.
When you come to pick up your night’s treats, Pepe will talk with you while making your order. He is super nice and funny and is always joking around. When I brought my brother here he stopped what he was doing to talk with us for a while and take a couple of pictures. He even gave us a bit extra manjar in our churros :)
This small churro truck should not be missed while in Bella Vista, it is a perfect snack for anytime of the day and will always have you wishing you bought one more…
Tip:
I think this is a given, but just in case, bring cash! They don’t take cards.
Also, check the news, if there is going to be a big strike during the afternoon, they usually don’t open.

Esta camioneta de aspecto antiguo y perfil bajo podría pasar desapercibida por completo si no fuera por ese letrero con letras rojas que llaman tu atención y te dejan susurrando la palabra… CHURRO!
De origen mexicano, chileno o centro americano no lo se, el churro es uno de mis postres favoritos, esta delicia crocante por fuera y bañado en azúcar con relleno de manjar es el acompañante ideal para esos días de frío.
Este food truco criollo, es la base de operaciones «móvil» de una familia que viene perfeccionando su receta desde hace años, creando los mejores churros de Santiago y lo mejor, al alcance de cualquier bolsillo.
No tengo idea del horario de atención pero para mi suerte, sin importar lo tarde de la noche, siempre han estado ahí ganandose mi respeto y adicción por sus churros!
Algo que también te puede interesar es que también tienen churros rellenos de mermelada, y aunque no cambio el manjar por nada! es una buena opción para los que el manjar les resulta demasiado empalagoso.

Hoy, domingo en la tarde quería comer algo que no fueran completos y encontré esta camioneta en la que venden churros. ¿Dónde? En Dardignac con Pío Nono.
Como los prefieras, este «local» los hace de inmediato por $ 1800, te llevas una docena de churros con azucar flor.
Por $ 1000, te llevas seis churros con azucar flor.
Por $ 500, te llevas un churro con manjar o uno relleno con mermelada.

Lo que siempre me pregunto en santiago cuando pienso en comer un churro: ¿Donde comprar churros frescos?
Bueno, hay donde conseguirlos y en un local donde no tan solo los preparan en el momento, sino también los preparan los dueños. Padre e hijo son los encargados en unos de los principales barrios bohemios de Santiago de darle vida a uno de los dulces que mas me hacen recordar mi infancia y obviamente el 18. Estos son los churros, que tanto de manjar o de mermelada, pueden ser comprados en este lugar.
Este lugar es un carro tipo remolque, que se ubica en la esquina de la conocida calle pío nono y dardignac, del conocido barrio bellavista, el cual esta casi todo los días del año frecuentado por un fuerte flujo de turistas nacionales e internacionales, tanto de día como de noche.
Lo llamativo del lugar es el sabor de sus churros y su venta por media o doce de estos, o también los mas ricos que son los rellenos. Ademas los precios son bastante razonable, ya que en otros lugares los venden al mismo o hasta mas precio, siendo la connotación principal de los mencionados en su frescura y gran sabor.
