Éste es, definitivamente, uno de los mejores lugares peruanos donde he comido, no tanto por la comida en sí, sino por el ambiente distendido y por lo bien que te atienden los garzones. Eso siempre suma. En cuanto a la comida, pedí cebiche, risotto de camarones y el tradicional suspiro limeño. Los sabores son buenos; los precios, no tanto. Pero de ser pudiente volvería todo el rato.

Barandarian has a couple of different restaurants and the owner is very flashy. Seriously, this dude has swagger and he knows it. Gold rings, necklaces and watches and an attitude to match. My family were visiting awhile back, so I thought I would take them to the tastiest food in Santiago: Peruvian. After some debate, we decided to go to Barandarian in Bella Vista so they could also check out the patio and this cool artsy strip filled with graffiti, nice architecture and one of Pablo Neruda’s homes. When we arrived, we were sat promptly and received a lunch menu. Right away the owner, who happened to be there that day, came over to our table and started speaking with us in English. He was super nice(trying to charm my stepmom haha). He made sure our dishes came out perfectly and quickly. He also recommended what we should try based, one plate included goat which was quite good and the other was the tallarín saltado which was delicious(I definitely recommend it)! We had pisco sours to start. They were good, but mine was on the sweeter side so I asked if I could get some extra lemon juice and the waiter was quick to get it(free of charge). After we finished our meal, the owner came back and took a picture with us, he also gave my stepmom a «recuerdo» which was a picture she had commented to him earlier that she liked(very nice on his part). Overall, the food was good, a little on the pricier side, but definitely worth it and the service was great.

«Un chifa en Santiago» Dicen los que saben que la comida peruana es tan rica por su mezcla de influencias que datan desde la época de la conquista española en donde los esclavos traídos de Africa usaban los restos de los banquetes españoles para inventar platos como el ají de gallina . También es debido a que gracias a la inmigración de ciudadanos chinos buscando un refugio en un país al otro lado del mundo que los peruanos disfrutamos de algo llamado CHIFA, esta palabra la puedes encontrar en carteles de todo tipo ubicados en toda la capital limeña sin embargo lamentablemente no son muchas las opciones en Santiago. Para suerte de nosotros existe un lugar que logro traer el Chifa, comida fusión chino/peruana y replicarla a la perfección en esta ciudad. No por nada este lugar es reconocido por su excelente lomo saltado y una variación que recomiendo a ojos cerrados, el riquísimo tallarín saltado. Sus precios son altos pero valen la pena, es excelente para celebrar aniversarios y cumpleaños sobre todo por que el cumpleañero podrá disfrutar de uno de sus famosos pisco sours GRATIS!
