I made the trip to the butcher. So worth it. Black pudding, Lorne sausage, haggis, pies, bridies. Baked goods and other treats. Easily some of the best scottish foods I have found in Toronto. Everything I purchased was spot on. Prices were reasonable. Will definitely make the trip again.

Right — I must keep the Five Star rolling. Our family has been shopping at Allen’s for close to 40 years. We were introduced to it by Bairds Scottish Bakery that used to be in the plaza just a few doors down. The meat quality is exceptional without doubt. Steak pies(a New Years Day staple for dinner in our home), Bridies, Sausage Rolls, and of course Square Sausage and Links. On top of that there are a selection of Brit favourites like potato scones, Tunnocks caramel wafer biscuits and(of course) Irn Bru. Hours can be a bit difficult but the quality and variety make this a worthwhile trip every two months. The parking is small but adequate for what’s in the plaza. This is still a family run business an a place where the Scots and Irish gather to get their stuff from back home. Make sure you spend time reading the tea towels. Some great laughs! Also — since Bairds closed, Allen’s is the go to place for Scottish baked goods and breads.

Allan’s Scottish is my every January goto for Haggis … and if 150+ people tell me the haggis is excellent, then Allan’s is my guy. Not to mention all the other goodies they have in the show case to eat on the long drive home! Cheers Patrick (He is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to the public)

Have been going here for over 15 years!!! Great black pudding, awesome(beef) breakfast sausages and of course the best haggis in TO. Family run. Sad to hear the father(Charlie) passed away he was a wonderful scouser and will be missed.
