If you are like me and you like to shop and you’ve been across the border you may know a thing or two about the TJX company. The one thing I can tell you is that winners is not marshalls, they are two separate stores under one umbrella company. The store that most resembles Winners(Canada) is Ross(US). If you’ve been shopping in the US you know that between Ross & Marshalls there is quite a big difference! Ross(as with Winners) carries a smaller selection of brand names and allows for bigger discounts due to a few factors: selection limitation, quality and quantity. Many items that enter stores such as Ross are liquidation items and more often– factory rejects(think: messed up zippers, strands loose etc). This is why when shopping at Winners one must look carefully at what one is buying. The real good deals are actually few! I’m not here to talk about Winners or Ross, I’m here to talk about Marshalls. Busy location in a hot spot with very limited parking.(Be prepared to walk) The selection at Marshalls is a bit more«high end» where else can you find: Gucci, Prada, Laboutins, and Tory Birch for $ 99 – 300? no where!(At least not in Canada) As with most stores of this nature getting your correct sizes and colours will be tricky but if you do find them i guarantee you will feel like the pirate that found the sunken treasure!

I was not too impressed with Marshalls. I expected more. A lot more. especially when all my friends from US has told me how much they enjoy shopping at Marshalls… Winners and Marshalls are so similar… I don’t find their selections any better? I was lucky that the store was not too messy when I was there. I tried on a few thing, I looked around and just walked out!

It’s like Winner’s but better. Scored some cute outfits for my baby boy. He’ll be stylin’ in some new digs.

As Vivian said below, I liked Marshalls when it was called WINNERS. She’s right, even the tags are identical. What is the point? It’s a poor man’s Winners, but you have to be rich to shop there. Since I went the first week that it opened, it was chaos inside. I pretty much walked in, looked at the poor, messy and sparse display of purses, and walked out. I’ll just stick to Winners. I don’t think I’ll be missing out.

you know what really bothers me? when there are two of the exact same stores in existence. i don’t even mean lowes vs rona, shoppers drug mart vs rexall. i mean when you have two stores that the only thing that is different is the name. when you walk into marshalls, you’re in winners. everything is the same, down to the tags. i get that in the states, they don’t have winners, but we don’t need a marshalls up here. it’s like zellers vs target. they’re the same stores, and soon, zellers will no longer exist and we’ll all be one in the same. so which do you think will outlast? canadian’s winners or the usa’s marshalls? i hope winners because if this marshalls is what is to show for comparison, i prefer our canadian selection. and i’m not the red and white proud you’d think i am, but go canada!

The first week it opened there was total kaos in the store! Security Guards in the parking lot guiding traffic and at the entrance doors. I love Marshall’s in the US and was happy to find out ours has finally opened! I was sadly disapointed! I’ve only been twice and the selection isnt great.
