Launch-the New Golf Game

Years and years ago I used to come here a few times in the off season or on a rainy day when I wanted to hit some balls. It was never my favourite place but it was a decent option under the right circumstances.
Today I returned and was incredibly disappointed. A large bucket goes for $ 16 which is on the high end as far as driving ranges go. The customer service is terrible. We were told after paying that we need to go upstairs and that if there is no space then we will just have to wait. I asked how busy it was and if there would be room but my question was not answered. I was told that I’d just have to wait to see when I got up there. There was no room upstairs and there were people waiting already so, to the employees displeasure, I picked up my things and moved downstairs, which was only about 25% occupied.
Aside from that, the balls look like they may still be the same balls from when the place opened. No dimples anymore. The range itself is incredibly rundown with an uneven surface and no more grid, like it originally had.
The heaters were very on and off, literally, and threw flames occasionally.
For the price, they really need to shape up. I am surprised that they are still in business, to be honest.
Needless to say, I won’t be back.

Ghetto driving range, don’t come here unless you want to pay $ 40 an hour to hit pinnacles that aren’t even shaped like golf balls.

It seems that since Launch — the «New» Golf Game opened many, many years ago, it has fallen under a significant amount of deterioration. New owners or managers? Golf fees haven’t changed much but the facilities are run-​down. The only thing that seems less than a couple years old are the balls and driving mats. Otherwise, the driving range carpet looks like racoons and squirrels chewed and regurgitated.
Not sure what the business intentions are of the current owners are but, it’s NOT golf.

Came here one Saturday afternoon with my friend to hit some balls. I am no golfer, I just like to hit up the driving range here and there. We went with the unlimited balls option so we would be charged the hourly rate. Upon deciding this, we did not actually know what the rate was. As far as looks go, it’s pretty run down, but when you’re just going to hit some balls I don’t find that it matters too much. There are two levels you can hit from and I like the fact that I saw heaters at every station which will come in handy soon. It wasn’t very busy when we went so we got right to it. I believe we were there for about two hours and it ended up costing us around $ 75.00. When we go again, we decided we would probably choose the bucket option next time as it would end up being cheaper. I like to take my time with my shots and I don’t want to have to worry about how long I have been there for. He was hitting them much quicker than me so it was probably more worth while for him.

I was a frequent customer here for about the past 6 – 7 years but I find myself not willing to go back to this driving range again.
First, each time I have come here (especially in recent years) it has become more and more run down. Further, the bar has always been a rip off, but although I like cheap beer, these are not exactly reasons why I won’t go back.
Why I won’t go back is that they consistently try to overcharge me. The first time they did this was a few years ago when they charged me double on my credit card. They also challenged my credit card company when I submitted a complaint to them. However, I guess I was naïve as I felt that they just did not realize their mistake. The second time was a few months ago when a friend and I shared a pad for two hours and they tried to charge us for 2 ½, which added $ 10 to the bill. I pointed out there was no way we were there for that long and although the person behind the counter was quite adamant we were, he agreed to change the bill to two hours of play. Again, I thought this was just a mistake on their part.
This past week I went again, got a pad for two hours with a friend, and AGAIN the same person behind the counter charged us an extra $ 10! Even though we got there at 8, he said we got there at 7:45 (This was impossible as I was at Yonge and Lawrence in Toronto at 7:35…impossible to get up to 400 and Steeles AND start playing in 10 minutes). Once again I told the person behind the counter and he changed the bill but at this point I have realized that these all aren’t mistakes. They are purposefully over-​charging me, and this being the third strike, they’re out.
tl:dr people: They overcharge, so therefore go to another driving range.

Yes, this place is a bit «ghetto» but there’s just something about unlimited balls that intrigues me to come back again.
You can print out a $ 25 for two hours (for two people) not including taxes on their website. I don’t think they limit that coupon to new customers only since it’s on their website for any one to print out.
Some of the perks:
1.) Heated during the chilly seasons
2.) TV at every station (for those who’re playing the waiting game)
3.) Well maintained mats
4.) Not too busy, so generally quiet atmosphere
The run-​down appearance does take away a star, but it doesn’t bother me so much that I won’t return. I don’t know, maybe it’s because it looks like my balls were flying further than normal (since we’re driving from the second floor)!

I went here this weekend, and i found it a bit run down. there are two options bucket of balls or unlimited balls. I went for a bucket of balls. If you go there and look up at the celling it looks like something about the insulation is wearing down (gross).
I also noticed when i was playing that the ground wasn’t grass which is why there was such a huge bounce on my chip shots. I also tried out the putting ground and I do not like their synthetic green.

You get ripped a new one everytime you go here.
It pricey at $ 24/​per hr per mat! There are specials days and coupon offers on their website from time to time so I would look into that if you’re on a budget.
Anyways despite this, I like the facility because there are two decks to hit from, they have bar/​food service they bring to you, I can smash an unlimited amount of balls during that hr.
