History

Established in 1992.

«This is what makes it feel like home.» Romel-​Jarski has been in the business of aesthetics since before she moved from Poland to Canada 19 years ago.

Training in Europe took two years, she said. But when she first came to Waterloo, she couldn’t find work and had to commute to a Toronto spa.

«After commuting every day, it was just too hard. I had to open my own business,» she said.

«With no clients, and just by working hard — and I still have some of those same clients today.»

She then opened Jolanta’s in Beechwood 14 years ago.

But that space was only about 1,000 square feet, and tucked away on the second floor of a plaza.

She longed for tall, bright windows and a more visible location.

After a considerable amount of hard work, more than 500 people attended the grand opening of the new Jolanta’s European Spa at the corner of Erb Street West and Ira Needles Boulevard.
