I was excited to see a shawarma place open up on Corydon but unfortunately it was a disappointment. Compared to the other shawarma places around the city, this place doesn’t stack up when it comes to selection, price and quality. I tried the two in one shawarma platter which was $ 10.99, included chicken and turkey, pita, a choice of one salad, hummus and french fries. The best part of the dish were the fries which were fried in this cool little machine. I was surprised that no lamb was available as there was only chicken and turkey and both were dry. You could tell just by looking at the meat that it was dry. The cabbage salad was recommended and it was fine, tasted like a vinegar based coleslaw to me. The pita is not made in house and is more fluffy and thick than a «typical» pita. It’s hard for me to return here as for maybe a $ 1 or 2 more, at Baraka Pita, the shawarma platter has bigger portions and tastes delicious as you get chicken(or some other protein), pita, hummus, tabbouleh, Mediterranean salad, and rice.. I wish them the best of luck and hopefully they improve on the quality of the meat and reconsider the items included in the platter.
