History

Established in 1976.

Established in 1976, we are one of the longest running Toastmasters clubs in Winnipeg and in Manitoba. Our club was founded at North American Life as a means for their employees to improve their communication and leadership skills. It was the first Toastmasters club of its kind in Manitoba to be dedicated to supporting the development of a company’s employees. The club has since expanded beyond North American Life to include members from the broader community. Historically a high performance club — Downtown Winnipeg Toastmasters remains a Winnipeg based Toastmasters club that meets and in some years exceeds all the Toastmasters International club standards for education, membership and administration. It earned recognition as a «President’s Distinguished» club — the highest possible accomplishment for a Toastmasters club.
