Excellent food. Everytime I go I get a great meal. Lots of variety in the menu and seasonal changes and off the menu specials that are fantastic

I love it. Good service, good food(I’ve only had the burgers, not the fries) and for a while, you could get a free burger on your birthday, which I loved. They don’t do the free birthday burger anymore, but I still like it.

As a vegetarian, I really want to like this place. Unfortunately I also like great food and this place does not deliver. The burgers are bland and fall apart after the first bite. The fries on the poutine are probably the worst I’ve had for the last 5 years(hard, chewy, and difficult to eat as if they were made with very old potatoes.) * sigh* The iced tea is good and the service is great.

I guess I am spoiled being that I am from the west coast and have a wide variety of vegan and raw food restaurants to choose from. Had both their poutine dishes and the flavoring were good but the fries sucked. Tried three different burgers and they were ok. Grateful for the tiny gluten free bun. Pleasant location and helpful service. We love the Winnipeg people!

My first poutine in Canada was vegan and it was pretty good! Wide selection of «burgers» with all kinds of toppings. Couple tables outside and a few inside. Friendly, quick service. Good prices. Great quick dinner spot!

This place is so yummy! I loved my ‘burger’ and the sesame fries. I know some people will say you can’t call it a burger if it has no meat but the flavors are wonderful, I enjoyed every bite. Atmosphere is really casual and I don’t think they have beer and wine but great for a quick bite to eat that doesn’t leave you feeling uncomfortably stuffed and unhealthy.

It was delicious! I tried the(vegan) bacon cheese burger and it was really quality food. I highly recommend this place, vegans and non vegans can enjoy it.

We are not vegan, and I choose to stay away from vegan alternatives(like«bacun» or soy cheese) so I won’t be ordering the«Chili Cheese» Burger, BUT I really love everything I’ve ever had(Buddha Burger, Wolseley Burger, soups, fries) here. I prefer the black bean or chickpea patties. My daughter said the hot dog was the best she’s ever had… and she’s had lots of meat dogs! :/I’ve had Boon Burger delivered, and it was just as good as at the restaurant!

It was my first time in the city so I used Unilocal to help me find good eats. Great eats is what I would call this restaurant. It has an eclectic atmosphere inside, but its cozy and the food is outstanding. If I ever visit the city again, I’ll definitely be stopping by here. Its in a strip mall of sorts, so its easy to miss if you are driving by. It only has street parking which when I arrived, there was plenty of open side street to park on.

I had boon burger. I didn’t realize it was vegetarian — and that is my fault. There were other burger I should have tried. Boon burger was no Veggie burger — and food felt healthy but not tasty. Good ambience and good friendly service. Poutine was horrible — not sure what others were talking about. I guess they are vegetarians and not foodies.

My wife loves this place. The food is exceptionally tasty. The Boone burger in particular makes this restaurant my wifes first choice for going out when she goes to Winnipeg. It is so good that she actually track down the recipe on the Internet and try to copy it. The Poutine is lovely too. A great vegetarian restaurant that meat eaters will enjoy.

VEGAN place but OMG is it soooooo good! You will fall in love with the food. The ambiance is rustic with a modern cheerful vibe. Everything’s hand made and you will, I repeat, want seconds, lick your fingers or do both. Love being there. Hope there is a solution to the parking soon.

This small local place handled our party of 20 with ease and professionalism. The food is delicious. I had the spicy buffalo burger. I liked it much better than the curry special. Their vegan menu is delicious(even though I’m not use to vegan) and they have amazing soft serve. The staff and food are a+. Next time I’m in town, I will be back

I really don’t get the big deal about this place. Their salads are below average, and the burgers are at best okay. These are certainly not the best veggie burgers in the city. I’d eat Bar I’s veggie burger over any of the Boon burgers any day of the week. Same goes for Prairie Ink’s burger AND Stella’s, even though their’s aren’t as good as they used to be. I haven’t been a vegetarian for about 6 years but I am a) obsessed with veggie burgers and b) have never understood the point of fake chicken or other fake meats. Or fake cheese for that matter. Seems like just a bunch of fake food, which can’t be great for you or as good as the original. I say, if you can’t live without cheese or chicken, then eat cheese and chicken not some inferior lab made version of it. But that’s just me. On the flip side, food is always fresh and hot and I’m sure I’ll be back. It might not be my favourite veggie burger, but the Buddha is pretty good.

Exhausted from the awful winter trek from Regina, I found boon via the happy cow website in a hurried search for vegan foods. Could not have been more impressed with this amazing little place!!! My partner and I both ordered burgers, fries and shakes. The shakes were Choc mint flavoured and we had to go back and order more to drink for brekkie the next day. Divine. The burgers and fries were great, filled us up and warmed us from the icy cold outside. I especially love how instead of giving us table numbers for the server for deliver our order, they gave us a toy giraffe. So simple, so adorable! Our cashier was very sweet when we asked about the history of the store, and was able to answer our questions. We even bought a tshirt. I would brave another day of winter highway driving to eat here again!

Meh with a side of boring sums up my Boon Burger experience. Maybe it’s the fabulous offerings I can get in Vancouver, or that my expectations were too high. I had the bacun cheese burger. The bun was great and I liked all the toppings. But the bacun was just marinated tofu and the burger really had no flavor. Good on Winnipeg for having vegan options, but I think Boon Burger has a far way to go before they really blow anyone’s mind.

I flew in and out yesterday to attend a funeral, and I hadn’t had anything to eat because airport food is decidedly not vegan. A family friend picked up a bean burger from here for me, and it was bar none the BEST I’ve ever had. I’ve eaten vegan food from Sweden to Iceland to Portland to Vancouver. Bar none! Thank you for feeding my sad and tired self. Next trip to Winnipeg will include lots of trips for their burgers!

An awesome burger is an awesome burger. And now, thanks to Boon’s, I now know that it need not be a burger made of meat. Had the Bombay Talkie burger and was pleased with the curry mixed with smoke taste. Unlike anything I’ve tried before. I’ll never stop eating meaty burgers, but thanks to Boon’s for showing me that meat is but one way to satisfy a craving for a burger. Hats off to the Boon!!!

As we live in Edmonton, which isn’t the most vegetarian friendly city, we were excited to try Boon’s burgers. And probably due to the 4.5 star consensus, this left me wanting more. The atmosphere is cool, the staff is super-chill, and they give one free refill on their homemade lemonade, but the burgers themselves disappointed. Admittedly, I’m a meat eater, but my wife is a Vegetarian — we know our veggie burgers, but admittedly are not vegan burger experts(eggs are the one of the secrets to the awesomeness of my own veggie burger recipe) Sarah’s tofu burger was dry and fell apart too easily. My bean burger was just a little too paste-like for my tastes. So, Boon is probably awesomer if you’re a Vegan than if you are a mere lacto-ovo vegetarian. Still, I’m all for the consumption of fewer animal products and applaud Boon for their efforts.

Boon Burger is the BEST place for vegan eats in Winnipeg, and I won’t hear you tell me anything otherwise! I have delicious dreams about those burgers. Boon, why won’t you deliver to me in Toronto? During a visit to Winnipeg with my gluten-sensitive mister, we went to Boon a few times, and I tried something different each time — I wish I could have tried *everything*, though! I’m not normally one to complain about my own anatomy, but my stomach could have helped me out by tripling in size at least. Sigh. Boon are super helpful when it comes to food sensitivities like gluten and soy(in addition to already being meat/egg/dairy-free being a vegan establishment), which is super awesome. My mister was able to have burgers with GF patties and buns, and despite the changeable quality of the buns visit-to-visit, he reports it was great. Fries as a side are super, although a *little* dry — you can get them poutine-style with the vegan cheese Daiya though, and that rocks. Each burger comes on a lovely soft square bun and is CHOCK full of toppings. I remember trying the Baja burger which was a wonderful mix of tropical flavours, and the Thanksgiving burger which was a very inspired mix of flavours that worked very well — it could’ve been overwhelming, but it was just right. Make sure to leave room for a vegan soft serve, too — GF cones available! I believe the flavours rotate, but we got chocolate and it’s so creamy and delicious, better than any other soft serve i’ve had. Vegan soft serve! Winnipeg, you don’t know how lucky you are. Practical points — some on-street parking, clean washroom, plenty of table space(for a small café) and some outside seating, very easy to understand menus(and helpful counter staff), plus the adorable way of marking your table number with toy animals! Boon Burger, I heart you. I can’t wait til you get in my belly again!
