Like Dons post from 4 months ago, I went to this place for a cut and experienced a bit of an uncomfortable situation… I had the opportunity to speak with both the owner and Fab who handled my situation professionally and delicately. I really enjoyed meeting the owner and hearing how he came to bringing this wonderful barbershop to us here in Windsor Ontario. I know many people who recommend Fab to do your hair as he is very skilled and extremely gifted with the artistic ability to make your cut look fresh. Looking forward to the future addition of the barber shop and hope there’s no hard feelings.

Sadly, my experience here was deplorable, for many reasons. When I first arrived, I was quoted $ 25 for a hot shave — which is fine; that’s about standard. When I sat down the fellow providing the service was personable, but the service itself simply wasn’t what was paid for. The hot towels were not steamed or in any way conventionally heated — it was run under warm tap water and barely rung out(the whole chest on my shirt was wet when I left). He then moved on to the razor… and then used a disposable razor… and then used an electric razor. So, at this stage I’m questioning the straight edge razor as, if properly cared for and used by a trained hand, the other two razors should be entirely unnecessary. To finish it off, he used a spray bottle of aftershave and sprayed it in my face as he told me to close my eyes. Too late! I waited for the burning sensation in my eyes to dissipate before I got up. Upon looking at the product of his work when I got out to my car, I had a 3″ square patch under my chin and the whole of my upper lip that was entirely untouched — those areas looked like I had not shaved in 2 – 3 days! When I re-entered to address this, he went over my face again with the electric razor and drew blood. Upon complaint, it was claimed that the razor was a $ 120 professional razor(an eBay search shows it’s $ 43 and not professional grade), that the $ 20 he charged me was a deal already because it’s normally $ 30(but I was quoted $ 25 when I arrived; so maybe a $ 5 «deal» at best). Never mind the fact that the straight razor — the one he was paid to use — was not used to effect the purpose of the treatment! He offered lots of excuses like people don’t like their lips shaved, but he did not, however, offer my money back for essentially failing to provide the service he was hired for. Whilst this was taking place, two of the staff were outside sitting on the ground in front of the shop smoking, another was standing outside talking to a friend whose truck blocked the entrance, and the fellow addressing me kept himself occupied while«providing his service» by chatting with his friend about how the girl cutting at the next chair needed to have«less caffeine but smoke more green» and about how the friend«makes her wet». Thoroughly unprofessional in every regard. I would highly suggest that other options be considered heavily before taking a chance here…
