We stopped in on a Wednesday night for dinner and a glass of wine. The service was very good. Attentive but not intrusive. For a wine oriented place we found the selections limited, and questionable. Also very expensive. The crab cakes and Caesar salad were excellent, and the pasta good. The lamb tortillas were awful. Gamey meat with store bought guac. The room itself is modern, comfortable and inviting– just not worthy of the prices charged.

Went here for the first time just because we happened to be in the area. The food was excellent, particularly the crab cakes and fries with truffle oil. The service is great, we got tapas and they cooked and served them two at a time so as not to overload us and none of it had time to get cold. I would definitely come here again.

I love tapas(and wine) but this restaurant was awful! First they cram the tables so close together you are almost sitting with the next table. The menu«looks» good but falsely advertises food which is mediocre at best. One dish claiming to be prawn«Scampi» was 6 very ordinary prawns around a tiny bowl of oil and god knows what. NOT scampi! AND the prawns were«off». When we complained to the owner, he behaved like a thug accusing us of looking for a free meal(despite the fact we were obviously paying for other dishes… and wine). While insulting us, he claimed his chef could do no wrong because he had 5 stars(something this restaurant will NEVER achieve). In short, he was as pretentious and prone towards false advertising as his menu. Thank God I only ate ½ of one prawn — Both my friend and I got sick from those prawns! I read a review here that referred to a view of the sunset but the only view from this restaurant is Johnston street.

Wow … big disappointment with this place. I’ve never felt so disappointed in a place that is supposed to be one of the better places to eat in the area. I was actually embarrassed I chose this place to take friends … it looked great walking in, service was ok although I did have to flag the waiter/waitress down because they were too busy talking to each other but that’s not really a big deal. The food… The tapas were bland and boring period. we ordered 6 different ones and I can’t say that any of the stood out other the chicken satay was horrible! What the hell was it? This place needs Feenie’s help !!! Not worth the money … you guys really need to look at your food… Cactus Club and Brown’s food quality is far better tasting. If you’re taking someone out just for drinks you’ll be ok but trying to impress you will fail. I do not think this place is going to survive to be honest

The service, food, ambience, and atmosphere was spectacular! Bin 101 is a hidden gem tucked away in beautiful White Rock. We had wine, appetizer, entrée, and dessert overlooking the sunset and everything exceeded our expectations. Well done!

We wanted to eat here and we noted that their«posted hours» clearly stated that they are open until 10pm. My wife and I didn’t want to miss the sunset so we decided to walk down to the beach and return to have tapas. It is a very long and steep hill to and from the beach. When we arrived winded and tired to this place at 9:30, we noticed a sign in the window that said closed. This was a complete slap in the face, not how anyone should run business. Per manager Scott, «Decision to close early on a slow night has already been made.» His insincere apology and inability to recognize poor business practice and deplorable customer service is concerning, especially in a managerial position. Closing hours(including personal decision caveats) should be clearly posted on line and on front door. We are extremely disappointed and do not recommend this bushiness to anyone. I hope the owners take note on how their business is represented by individuals such as manager Scott.

Went there for a Sunday brunch, 05 – 2015, over priced for the quality of the food, The only thing big about their«big Plate» breakfast was the plate. Even after sending my toast back to be toasted, it came back to the table only slightly better than before, far from toasted and with the same bite out of it I had taken. Who does that? How much is a slice of bread. Give me a new order please. They defiantly have to work on the quality and quantity of food served. Rob(White Rock)

Our first trip to Bin 101 was a pleasant surprise. The surprise part was that the tapas portions were larger than anticipated and between the two of us we could not finish two tapas and an order of fries(«pomme frites»). I am picky about French fries and found these very much to my liking in that they are close to the ideal fries served in the Ardennes region of Belgium. Crunchy on the outside and firm on the inside, they still tasted like potatoes, which most fries in Canada do not. A big serving with three good dips was $ 8. The pulled pork sliders were excellent: a little sweet and a little spicy and overfilled! Finally, we had the Mediterranean flatbread, comprised of tons of sweet, roasted garlic cloves, eggplant, roasted red pepper pesto and provolone cheese. Beautifully done with a proper, thin, Italian-style crust. We sampled two flights of red wines, each consisting of three, 3-ounce glasses and priced at $ 16 and $ 19. Service was excellent and the entertainer, a fellow who played piano and guitar and sang a mix of original compositions(nice) and old standards, was appreciated. A fine evening for us.

I would absolutely refrain from eating at this restaurant. It was an awful experience and a complete waste of money. My main complaints are: 1. The portions were ridiculously small. 2. The service was painstakingly slow. 3. Poor atmosphere. Context: My family and I and our four guests, went to Bin 101 for their New Years Eve«Four» Course Meal. The tickets cost $ 60 per person. The meal, however, was much more like a two a half course meal instead of four. I am very disappointed at the restaurant’s lack of integrity as their marketing was incredibly misleading. The Portions: I feel cheated and misled. The first course, an «appetizer,» was effectively a tablespoon of whipped cream and half a teaspoon of salmon. It was a snack at best and I could barely taste the salmon. In fact, it was so small, I ate it in one mouthful. The second course, a salad, was a very small plate of mixed greens with some craisins, tomatoes and a sprinkle of nuts. I could have found a more substantial and creative salad at Olive Garden. The main course, which the restaurant advertises as «Chateaubriand for two,» affords two small medallions of beef(probably 4 oz) and maybe two potatoes for each person. To be fair, the beef was tasty and tender. Ironically, the most substantial course of the night was the cheese cake, which was inedibly rich. The Service: They were very unprepared for the night, which was surprising since tickets had to be purchased before the event. The restaurant was clearly understaffed and our food came at an unbearably slow pace. The Atmosphere: The music was too loud and with the poor acoustics of the room, we could barely hear each other. Furthermore, the countdown was very sad and the party itself was far from festive. Neither my family, nor our friends will be returning to this restaurant. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Come for the food. Stay for the music. We just recently ate here the food was good, not exceptional but pretty good, the entertainment was great the fellow playing the piano and singing was amazing, random people got up to dance and sing along. Great atmosphere.

**important** I was tricked into thinking this place was going to. BE like Bin 941 downtown. It’s very far from it. I Admit the space is nice minus the smell of Goodyear tires throughout. The food was absolutely terrible. Not even mediocre at best. This is a wannabe cool pub plain and simple. You get better food up the road at Sawbucks NOLIE. Their idea of flatbread is basically a frozen mcain pizza chopped up into small bites. Not going to even go into the other terrible«shared plates» as they call it(prob because they are so terrible you HAVE to share them). In all seriousness. If your an employee reading this QUIT now before this place closes down. I give it maybe 6 months to a year. Simple solution Mr Owner. HIRE an actual chef. Not a ex pub line cook. The clientele is def there in white rock. Look at how successful Taps is. Maybe hire fine dinning experienced staff. Clearly they were MIA when we were there

the Good people of White Rock are being ripped off. Hopefully they realize the emperor has no clothes. Being a resident of the area for the past 15 years and having seen my fair share of restaurants come and go, I will be surprised that something with such low quality and high cost is actually going to stick around for long. The place was buzzing and by that i mean so loud the waiter had to admit he couldnt hear us. There was piano music but it was also drowned out by the extreme crowd noise. Even though I was really hungry there was absolutely nothing on the menu that even remotely inspired me. I guess in this case it is good(?) the waiter took 20 minutes to get to our table to take our order. And judging by the flavor, texture and presentation of the pan fried oysters that finally came after half an hour I am glad we decided to not stick around for the salad we ordered which still hadn’t come after 45 minutes. The response from the owner upon complaining was that they got slammed and weren’t expecting it. Which is curious since it was dinner time on a Friday night. We suggested adding some staff or reducing the number of tables(or they could take reservations in order to manage the crowd). Also this place is supposed to be a wine bar, again missing the mark as they had a very limited and very expensive selection of wines by the glass. Maybe the owners need to go back to restaurant school to determine how best to create value, ambiance, good food and most importantly loyal customers.
