Dixie Lee Chicken

I saw that Dixie Lee was finally open so I thought that we’d give it a try. When we walked in, it smelled good (fried chicken always does, I suppose), and the staff were very friendly (which is why they got 2 stars not 1). When we got home, after a very short drive, and opened the box, we were presented with greasy and soggy fried chicken, with a pool of grease at the bottom of the box.
Clearly the staff cooking the chicken did not let the chicken drain before putting the chicken in the box … such a shame. The chicken itself seemed to be good, but our family just couldn’t get past the soggy grease. Disgusting. When we reheated it the next day in a toaster oven, it was better. We’ll give the place another chance, but if they blow it again, we’ll go back to Chick N Joy or Mary’s even though those places are farther away.
