Great lounge in Whistler to escape the rif raf. High end drinks, we enjoyed Louis the 13th cognac, which is hard to find with the correct glasses. Our server even knew the story that went along with the cognac and how it is made. The tuna salad was fantastically prepared. Great place to go to find high end exclusive liquors.

Cozy and great place to slouch around and chit chat. They have live music which is awesome! Great guitarist and music. They have a pretty big selection of alcohol that will make anyone happy. Tried the Canadian coffee which is warm whiskey with bitters topped with maple whipped cream. Tasted like coffee with booze. It was warming and delicious. Got an order of chocolate fondue to share. Fun for any age… Strawberries, bananas, walnut cookies, banana bread etc In a warm milk chocolate fondue. Great view and service. Wish everyday was like a lazy lounge day here!

Mallard’s is the Bar Lounge in the Fairmont Hotel lobby. It’s tastefully decorated and located centrally. While it gets quite busy for après-ski and after dinner lounging, I never had a problem finding seating. The waiters were extremely friendly, efficient, and polite. There is a wide variety of food and drinks available. It is a full bar, and they also have specialty cocktails. I ordered the ahi salad and tomato soup. I also had the burger on another day. All was very delicious. They hand make chocolate bark here. A definite must try! While some complain that this place is expensive, I thought that for a resort hotel bar, the prices were acceptable. Plus, with the strong US Dollar, prices were actually less than I expected.

Yes it’s pricey but hey. It’s Whistler. It’s a nice lounge to relax in before dinner or just to relax. Their mojitos are delicious. I could have drank them all night. The food itself wasn’t the best I had. We got the antipasto platter and it was so-so. Nachos for the kids was huge but they devoured it no problem. At night they have a live band. It was nice to chill there

So, so good. Great food. Great drinks. Awesome service. Confines are beautiful and the walk from Whistler’s Village isn’t bad at all. We went for NYE and thought we’d leave at like 10 or 11 pm to hit a bar in town. It was so much fun that we never left.

Luxurious après ski/lunch at its finest. Superb food– special call out to the Crab Salad– at $ 34, a spurge but wow. So much fun to cozy up with warm beverages and seating is so comfortable. As to be expected, very pricey so be prepared to drop some cash. We found it worth it.

What happened to my beloved Mallard Lounge at the Château Whistler?! I’ve been the Château Whistler’s biggest fan for 20 years. Christmas day, I was there with my family. There was barely anyone in the lounge compared to last Christmas where people were climbing over us, which was ½ the fun. 4 lovely servers were tending to us, yet my mimosa arrived only after I asked if it had been forgotten. When it did arrive they were apologetic and said they would take it off my bill. It was on my bill and I paid for it. My soup came late and was … well … it was sent back… the accompanying bread arrived after lunch was completely over. Not to mention the lack of presentation… How is this possible? Did they fire all staff Christmas eve and were training on Christmas day? So strange… They seem to have changed up the furniture into what looks like vinyl covered retro as opposed to the European over stuffed shabby chic that was the château. Ambiance gone. I guess I’ll have to find another hotel to fall in love with in Whistler… soooo sad!!!

The Mallard Lounge is the lobby lounge at Fairmont Château Whistler, which serves everything from oriental peking duck spring rolls to bar-style nachos! There’s a huge selection of food and drinks available and the staff are extremely friendly so you’ll meet all sorts of people(and dogs) here! My favourite dish was actually the Nachos Grande, which was loaded with tons of high-quality cheese, tomatos, onions and of course, salsa guacamole and sour cream on the side. Their truffle fries are excellent as well while their flatbreads were just good/average. My mojito was made very well but was quite expensive($ 16). I would say that the majority of their mixed drinks and wines by the glass were in the $ 16-$ 19 range while they had a wide selection of fancier alcohols by the bottle such as Dom Perignon and Moet. If you want to relax in a comfortable and unpretentious lounge, The Mallard is right for you!

There’s a story that comes with this. Read on if curious… The drinks are top notch — Corpse Reviver #2 is one of my favorites and they mix it very well here. We shared a very fine grilled cheese sandwich. Excellent wines and spirits to choose from. We were staying at the nearby Intrawest and were forced to evacuate because of a nonsensical fire alarm. It took the fire brigade more than an hour to clear the event so we wandered over here to pass the time. Fairmont bars attract a high-end crowd. The Mallard Bar welcomed several groups from Intrawest, served us promptly, enjoyed our pajama clad irony while the snow was falling. We reminisced that this was the second time we had an Intrawest fire alarm — the previous time was five years ago and the hour was nearer midnight — a more difficult crowd. Mrs. G lost one her favorite scarves here. The Fairmont phoned the Intrawest to let us know we could retrieve it. Kudos to the Fairmont!

The food and service is as you would expect at a Fairmont… our group enjoyed really good salads, a goulash and a particularly good veggie dahl(seriously good in fact!). We weren’t too worried about the live music when it started, but it just got louder and louder until we had to move seats because we couldn’t hear each other over it… I’d say if you are going for drinks/live music, then it’s a good choice, but don’t expect to have dinner there and be able to talk to anyone in your party… if anyone from Fairmont management is reading this then… please just turn it down a notch for diners… or make it a bar only!

Awesome cocktails. After skiing all morning I was absolutely parched. J and I sat down at the bar and I ordered a glass of water and an iced tea. After rehydrating, a drink on the menu piqued my interest and I decided to try. It was a White Cranberry and Pear«martini»(not something I really believe in, mind you). WOW, it was really good. So good in fact, that I had to try another. This time the bartender made a sort of mandarin jalapeño drink and it also, was better than I could have imagined it would be. Thank you Michael. I have attempted to duplicate this drink, to no avail… I will be back

I stayed in the Fairmont Château Whistler a few months ago with my husband, and I decided to have a glass of wine while he was in a work meeting. The Mallard Lounge is really comfy inside, with plenty of couches and chairs to relax in. There’s also a fantastic patio with lots of tables. The wait staff are pretty friendly, and there are plenty of wines, beers, and cocktails in their drink menu. You can also order food here, but I didn’t take a look at the food menu. Unfortunately, everything is really expensive. The cheapest glass of wine I could find was $ 12, and the beers are at least $ 10. That’s to be expected for a Fairmont, but I was hoping that the wine and beer quality would be a bit higher given the price point. I would recommend The Mallard Lounge for a cocktail or two since it is a really nice lounge, but it’s too expensive to spend the whole night drinking in the bar.

It was a summer weekend and we sat on the patio at the Mallard Lounge, enjoying the rarity of a warm September evening in the mountains while watching guests’ children play tag on the lawn(a grassy LAWN? What a luxury at a hotel property!) and sipping some amazing cocktails. Admittedly, we are normally beer and wine people, with the occasional Caesar or Mojito thrown in when we’re feeling fancy, so are not the best judges of what makes a cool cocktail, but we were blown away by the interesting adult bevies on offer. We tried the signature gin & tonic and the Moscow Mules(voddy, ginger purée, lime and soda)…that last one was a repeat! The drinks are small, yet bear Manhattan prices($ 15 and up!) making it easy to «enjoy responsibly».

What a gorgeous room! I recently played a show in Whistler and was booked for a night at the gorgeous Fairmont Château Whistler. I had dinner at The Mallard Lounge and it was mindblowing. I ordered a Panzanella Salad(summer tomatoes, Foccacia croutons, Boccocini, cucumber, basil and sherry vinaigrette) and it was absolutely PHENOMENAL. Massive serving, but at $ 17 it should be. I ordered my main meal from the other hotel restaurant The Wildflower and that was the true delight of the evening. Prime Rib with Oyster Mushrooms, Roast Potatoes and perfectly cooked Green Beans. PERFECT. I also ordered a Cranberry Cucumber Mojito which was delicious and refreshing. Great flavours, lovely presentation! My friend ordered 3 cocktails from our superstar bartender Xavier, and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. On the pricey side, but worth it if you want a night of relaxing vibes and class.

The food here is pretty tasty and the drinks were very good. Some of their drink mixtures were a little on the pricey side so I would stick with the regular beers/drinks. We had the nachos and found them quite tasty and also a nice large servings. Some of their food items were a little pricy side.

Ordered the charcuterie plate. It was very good and plated beautifully. The margarita I ordered wasn’t the worst, and yet not the best — just okay. My sweetheart ordered the Whistler Brewing Whiskey Jack beer and found it to be very good. The wait staff was pleasant and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. We will be back!

The waitress was just great but nachos($ 50+ bill with 1 ice tea ea & tip) was just awful. burned nachos, no olives, no jalapeño, just burned chips, cheese & chicken. We left without eating. it’s gone downhill Since we used to stay there annually.
