I had visited Evolution last summer when my sister and her family stayed there(I stayed in the village) and I was really impressed. When we all went up again this summer, I was happy when my brother-in-law booked us in at Evolution. My only mistake? Reading Tripadvisor reviews. I was under the impression that staying on the mountain side would be really noisy from the pool… when I was here last summer, we were out at the pool and there were a lot of other families at the pool. Having said that… this time, we were up during Crankworx, where there were apparently upwards of 20,000 visitors to Whistler, and apparently EVERYWHERE was sold out, including Evolution… and yet the pool was dead. Also worth noting, the pool shuts down at 10 pm, so even if it is noisy earlier on, 10 pm is not exactly a late night. We stayed on the other side, which was the highway side, due to my misjudgment. I was awake at about 6:30 am every morning from the infrequent, not remotely heavy highway traffic. Lesson learned — stay on the pool side. The suites themselves are beyond well equipped — we usually bring our own kitchen equipment, having experienced so many places with little to none… I knew from last summer that we didn’t need to(of course my family still brought their own coffee machine, as they do everywhere). Abundant dinner ware, flatware, glassware, pots, pans, and so on… we did bring one good kitchen knife, as we are fussy about that, but there was still a good selection of knives available. The bathrooms were stunning… enormous, beautifully tiled walk-in showers, huge, deep soaker tubs, heated floors and a massive vanity with tons of room for storage and leaving all my stuff everywhere. Beds — if you stay in anything 2-bed or up, both beds are kings… and not only are they ridiculously comfortable(with a ton of pillows — key), but they are proper king beds, not two beds pushed together like so many hotel«king» beds are. There are great amenities at Evolution that we did not take advantage of… aside from the pool and hot tub, there is an outdoor barbecue area, a gym and a games room. The one and only thing that I would draw someone’s attention to is that, while lovely that the suite has a fireplace… it’s a through and through to one of the bedrooms. To which my brother-in-law pointed out might be a bit awkward if anyone was to go up as two couples and share a suite… because there is a clear view of the bed from the living room. Having said that, we took two of the chairs from the dining table, pushed them up against the fireplace(not like we had it on!!) and laid a blanket from the bedroom across the chairs. Problem solved. We did this primarily to block the light from the living room in the morning, but it would serve many purposes ;) All in all, I have stayed in far too many places in Whistler, from hotels to condos to everything in between… when I need a place that is well equipped, with ample room and great facilities, I will be coming back to Evolution.

Had a wonderful time at Evolution, great romantic place to stay in Whistler. One building away from the ski slopes and in a quiet part of Whistler. Would definitely return. Called front desk many times and they were very friendly and accommodating.

We visited Whistler with our three children, and stayed at Evolution. We requested that we stay on the same floor as our friends(who were also traveling with three children) and were were accommodated without an issue . The condos are roomy, clean, and are stocked with supply of dishes(up to eight) pots, pans, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, even laundry detergent in addition to the typical soap, shampoo, conditioner. kitchens and bathrooms are modern. You get one pouch of coffee, so bring some ground coffee with you and extra sugar if you need it(only 3 packets were there when we arrived.) The manager John Nicholas(spelling) went above and beyond over, and over again. We traveled all the way from Boston, but will probably go back this season because the trip was so incredible. Only request I would have is for the condos to stock cookie sheets or cake pans that you can sign out if needed. My daughter had her first birthday cake cooked in the oven in a frying pan! People from the U.S. keep in mind that the front desk will not exchange your currency at this time. Go to the bank across the street ;)
