Dawson College is the largest CEGEP in the Quebec network and is located in the heart of downtown Montréal.
History
Established in 1969.
Dawson College was the first English CEGEP, and is named after Sir William Dawson, a McGill University principle from 1855 to 1893. Dawson formerly occupied several campuses around Montréal, but in 1988 consolidated in the former Mother House of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame, in the 12-acre city block bordered by Sherbrooke St., de Maisonneuve Blvd., Wood Ave. and Atwater Ave.
As of Fall 2010, Dawson also has classrooms on the fourth floor of the Pepsi Forum, one block southeast of the main campus.
