The sweet pastries are good but their savory pies and meals are crap. I ordered the shepherds pie, thinking they couldn’t screw it up. Well they did. No seasoning and the mashed potato was from the dehydrated flakes. $ 10 for a Small dish and they couldn’t even mash a couple of potatoes??? V disappointed!!! Not ever coming here again!!!

One of the better places in Dundarave for lunch. Everyday day has a different lunch special. The salmon quiche with salad is fabulous.

This is a great bakery with baked goods and hot breakfast too. I got the eggs Benedict, half order and it was amazing. Their cookies are really yummy too.

Everything is nicely displayed, very hipster yet old school country-ish. Most of the pastries are very reasonably priced. I haven’t had lunch here, just take out pastries.

I eat here regularly for lunch and it is great. Order and pay at the counter(I try extremely hard not to look at all the delicious baked goods and pies next to the cashier) and give your name and they will bring you the food. Don’t forget to grab silverware, napkins and water on your way to your table. They have fabulous, enormous sandwiches made on their homemade bread, especially the«HTLC»(ham, tomato, lettuce & cheese). I also absolutely love their«bakehouse salad» because it is also huge and comes with Irish soda bread and chicken or shrimp. So good! The service is great, the staff are all friendly and welcoming. Go check it out!

I was so looking forward to lunch at the Bakehouse. The Edgemont location was one of my favourite spots when we lived in Vancouver… On our way to Lighthouse Park, we stopped for lunch. And it was okay, but when I had built it up so much in my mind, I was disappointed. Couple things happened… My daughter wanted the kids eggs & toast which they don’t do after 11… One of the things I LOVED about the Bakehouse was homemade lemonade, now it’s bottled. Staff was impatient as we ordered. They did however, have some pies on the go which was fun to watch. The food was good, but the experience wasn’t as great as I hoped.

A good place to stop at in Dundarave for a lighter meal. I often go there for the Mac & Cheese which is blended with small bits of tomato and served with a heavy bread. It gets very busy during the noon hour and can have long waits at that time of day. There is a lot of seating and it can be a good place to walk to the beach from if it’s full inside.

Delicious muffins, scones, soups, bread, and sandwiches. I would describe their Irish Soda bread as an especially rare and precious jewel of a bread but who wants to eat rocks? Not even the sneaky characters who invented rock soup. Though, I suppose bake house soups could be described thus(i.e. packed with minerals and all that good stuff). Menu board, close proximity to seawall, «orders up» announced with the«honk» of one of an array of rubber chickens– what is there not to love?

Consistently great sandwiches and other lunch items. Bread is amazing.

The owner /proprieter clearly knows nothing about customer service and doesn’t value repeat business. On Friday 6 of us ladies settled down to await our birthday-girl friend to enjoy a lunch together. She was unavoidably delayed so we ordered coffees while we waited. One of us even ordered a sandwich. The coffees were cold, the orders were wrong AND to add insult to injury the owner /proprietor indicated we should leave if we were not going to IMMEDIATELY order food! We are part of a very large group of friends and we will vote with our feet and NOTBEBACK! ~ Lucy in Port Moody

On a Sunday at noon, the Bakehouse is packed! Place your order at the counter and then find a table. There is quite a wait. I witnesses some women at a nearby table confront an employee about the long wait and then storm out in frustration. I didn’t mind waiting since I had a cup of coffee and friends to catch up with. I thought the french toast was worth the wait. However, if you are looking for food in a jiffy to be enjoyed in a nice quite environment, free of screaming children, you are better off somewhere else.
