This restaurant was one of the places we wanted to go to when dine out started this year but we never had a chance to try it then. We were hyped and excited when we decided to go tonight after seeing all the good reviews here. The service was pretty good… Nothing to complain about. Our food came out all at once… Which we didn’t expect cause we thought our appetizers would come out first. So we didn’t know what to eat first. We had the KFC chicken wings and mussels. Both were pretty good but some of the mussels were undercooked cause the shell didn’t open. My boyfriends oyster burger was not bad however my ling Cod entrée was pretty bland and dry. My friends fish tacos are apparently pretty tasty. We left work full stomaches. But didn’t feel like it lived up to the hype too much.

We loved the fish and chips so much, we asked for a second round. The calamaris were also delicious. The ambiance is great, with a lot of light and in front of the bay.

Omg!!! If you love seafood, you gotta try this place. Love coming to horseshoe bay as a treat away from Vancouver and have been dying to try this place. Went in for happy hour and they had Buck-a-shuck. Very very very fresh fanny bay oysters. We also had the fish poppers(which I assumed is what their fish and chips would taste like). Honestly the lightest fish I’d ever had in my life with th best tartar sauce. My boyfriend had a crab cake sandwich with soup and I had their shrimp wraps. Both meals fed us very well and tasted truly amazing. I always go out for seafood when I eat and this is honestly the BEST food I’ve had in awhile. I will be back!!! Can’t wait to try the dinner menu. Marcus was also fantastic. Knew his menu and was very friendly Thanks so much for actually being so awesome!!!

We had an appointment in the area and it was a beautiful evening so decided to stop for dinner on the patio, as it was so appealing — looks just like a french sidewalk bistro(although of course we aren’t allowed to truly be on the sidewalk in this town…) Anyway, I ordered the cod tacos and I was *blown away* at how insanely good they were(I am not sure I have ever had better cooked battered cod) — and the accompanying spring greens salad was also deceptively simple yet gorgeously delicious. My daughter had grilled cheese worthy of a bistro in Paris and they were kind enough to replace the standard fries with the seaweed snack and carrot sticks offered as a side on the kids gluten free option… accompanied by a small Blue Buck, it was a tiny pocket of heaven in my evening. I will be going back!

We’ve eaten here many times now and I’ve forgotten to post a review. Everything here is delicious… period. Beautiful Horseshoe Bay plus fantastic food. Totally recommend this place

Always the best and most welcoming service and excellent food — one of my all-time favourite spots! A cucumber martini and their fresh mussels = pure bliss

This place is crazy good. I went for lunch with a friend a few weeks ago and was not disappointed. The food(I had the fish and chips) was delicious, fresh, and nicely presented. The service was prompt, efficient, and the staff were friendly. The atmosphere was bright and enjoyable, so overall this place has got everything covered. Glad we stopped in and will definitely be back.

I came into this restaurant on Family Day, today. We went for a long stroll along the Bay and then decided to head home. It was really a last minute decision to stay longer and try out this restaurant. When we went in, we were first in line but completely got ignored by several staff members. After us, a couple entered and immediately the hostess took them in and showed them to their table. We were first in line, don’t understand why they got in first. After a couple minutes, a staff member realized we’re still waiting to be seated and showed us to our seat. The service was really slow. My parents ordered the seafood chowder + salads($ 15), I ordered the basic cajun chicken burger($ 15). After waiting about 10mins, their food arrived. I was so hungry so I had to eat a piece of bread from my mom’s chowder. They said their food was okay. No staff member seemed to notice that I didn’t get my burger. Maybe after another 10mins, FINALLY a server asked me if I got my burger yet or not. I said no. Looked like he asked around and seemed like they forgot to tell the kitchen about the burger. It wasn’t even that busy to forget someone’s order. When the burger arrived, it was meh. Would probably rate 3⁄5 because of the bacon missing and the ingredients didn’t feel good quality. Plus ambiance wise, it was so loud that we had to keep yelling to hear eachother across the table. For a West Vancouver and touristic location, it didn’t feel like a good experience and didn’t think they earned the tip for the service. Don’t think I’ll come back again.

This place was a good quick stop on our way to Whistler mtn. Nice ambiance, decent food, friendly service. I decided to try something different and went with the Bimbimbop– which is a Korean sizzling bowl with brown rice, zucchini, bean sprouts, cucumber, a fried egg and thinly sliced beef. It was very tasty… it was a tad in the oily side but other than that I would definitely order it again. My husband ordered the Cajun chicken burger and he said it was really good.

Had lunch while waiting to pick up my family at the ferry. The place was absolutely packed and I wasn’t terribly excited about having to sit by the bar which was right near the door, since the draft was pretty awful every time it opened. I got my food really quickly and I was especially impressed with how hard the guy behind the bar was working, he literally never stopped moving and kept the whole thing a really smooth experience for all of the customers. My meal was great, I ordered a burger and fries. Everything was very fresh and I had zero complaints, which is rare for me. My receipt said my servers name was Antony, so if the manager reads this, please give him my regards as he was exceptionally friendly and one of the hardest working people I’ve ever seen in the food industry.

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place since we’ve tried trollers and bay moorings already. We originally thought the prices here were much higher but they actually were pretty much the same as the other restaurants. We got the mussels to start($ 15). The portion size was fair. It may seem smaller than other establishments, but the mussels were super plump and juicy and it turned out to be a very decent size. The taste was also spectacular. The white wine was light and not overpowering and the broth was slightly creamy but not too thick. Everything about it was what we expected and more. I had the England seafood chowder($ 6.50) and it was not bad. It wasn’t anything mind blowing and I’ve had better tasting chowders, but the value for what you got was pretty awesome. There was so much seafood — the chunks of fish were huge. Definitely worth $ 6.50. Lastly my boyfriend ordered the goggie dog and it was soooo good. The one bite I had was a party in my mouth. AAA shaved rib-eye instead of your usual hot dog sausage, along with the perfectly paired cole slaw made it such a well executed dish. For $ 14 this was a steal. I would easily pay $ 20 for it. The Korean flavours also shone through. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and for what we had, along with a beer my boyfriend ordered was just under $ 45 with tax. Not so shabby! We’ll definitely we back and this is now our go to place in horseshoe bay.

What a surprise!!! Just a quick stop for lunch outside of Vancouver but we followed the local business crowd and it paid off! I had a gumbo soup and a club sandwich and their interpretation of both was original and delicious!!! My compliments!

We sat down for a late lunch on a weekend based on previous reviews… Horseshoe Bay can be a bit of a tourist trap so we were pleasantly surprised overall. Service was reasonably quick with the order taking but quite slow on bringing the food. However the food was very good. Fish and chips was very good but the portion in the small side(2 large pieces of cod for $ 18 with extra $ 2 for yam fries substitute), Chicken Pesto Penne was very flavourful and the pasta was as it should be, Al Dente. The highlight was the Goggie Dog sandwich… Wow! A reason by itself to come back…

The owners and servers here are really friendly! Ambiance is casual and nice and the food is good with prices that don’t break the bank and a beautiful view of horseshoe bay. Most people I know LOVE it here for the reasons mentioned above. I like it too but am less«wow“‘d. Most things I’ve eaten here have been really good, except I had the chicken teriyaki rice bowl with tofu instead which was a mistake. The tofu didn’t seem to have been cooked in the sauce and was more like the tofu you get out of a can in a salad bar with no flavor at all. The tuna salad is good but not out of this world, but the seafood cioppino is GREAT and comes with delicious bread for dipping so I highly recommend it! Always exciting specials as well. If you need a bite to eat in west van this is definitely a spot to check out.

So glad we happened upon this place. To be honest we came here because Troll’s next door had a 20 minute wait and we didn’t have time to wait as we needed to catch the ferry. There was a 15 minute wait here which was still too tight for us to dine in so we ordered at their take out window. The wait wasn’t very long before we got our food. We ordered the cod and chips and the fish burger. It was delicious! And we were able to catch our ferry! We will definitely come back another time and dine in the restaurant.

Great place for a meal in Horshoe Bay! Love the ambience. The food was fresh and amazing. We were post a full day of hiking so wanted something healthy and filling. The albacore tuna salad was amazing! The portion was big but just what I want in a salad meal. Also tried the baked oysters: very well done, did not overwhelm the taste of the oysters. Would definitely come back here again!

I’ve been to the Olive & Anchor a few times and have never been disappointed. The food is great, the view is lovely and the service is good. Out of all the dining options in Horseshoe Bay, the Olive & Anchor is definitely the best option. Most recently, I had the garlic prawns to start followed by the pesto penne and both were delicious. The portion size for the pasta was very generous. After the appetizer and entrée I was so full I couldn’t order any dessert!

Went to Olive & Anchor after missing our ferry but was glad that we had stopped in here! It was a bit before 6pm and the rush but they managed to squeeze us into the restaurant even though we didn’t have reservations on a Friday night. It was a delightful experience as we ordered crab cakes and raw oysters to start and a seafood hot pot and chicken wings to finish. That hotpot was really really delicious and highly recommended! It had a lot of seafood which was cooked well and the broth wasn’t too salty. We ordered an extra side of bread so that we could finish the broth! The crab cakes and the wings weren’t too bad but were on the dry side. Overall though, it lived up to what the other Unilocal reviewers had said. Our server, Marcus was excellent! I can’t say enough great things about him as hour was attentive, knowledgeable, and provided first class service to us.

This place is wonderfully kid friendly; when we arrived w Deere promptly offered a high chair, kid toys, a glass of milk and a kid menu. Fabulous. The beer was spectacular– great selection. Also the in house Caesar is delicious. We had the cippino stew and seafood linguine. I thought the pasta dish was better than the stew, but both with fresh fish. This is better than average pub food with decent prices.
