I hiked to the Cypress falls. It took only 15 minutes to hike to the bridge and the water fall. Its hard to find this water fall. Its located in a residential area. Here is the coordinates. North 49 degrees, 21 feet, 07.51 inches– West 123 degrees, 14 feet, 27.81 inches. There is a tennis court where you park at. Walk up the hill of the tennis court. No signs. But you can figure it out. You walk through dark forest. Real green in there. Trail is easy. I was disappointed when I got to the water fall. I could not even hardy see it and I could not get a picture of it on the trail. Maybe there is another way. Not sure. That’s why I only gave this a 3 stars. The walk to the bridge is okay and got a picture of it. This place is pretty close to downtown Vancouver.

Located in West Vancouver, surrounding a neighborhood that is near a park. Great amount of parking spaces – when we went here, it was not packed at all. The trail doesn’t have any signs leading to the waterfalls, but as long as you walked along the creek(follow the sound of rushing water), you will be fine. Within ten minutes, you should pass by a small waterfall – cannot really see it because of a fence for safety reasons. There is also a bridge there. Do not cross the bridge if you want to see the actual waterfall(that’s what we were told by a fellow hiker). So we do not really know what’s after the bridge lol. It an uphill trail until you reaches a chain-linked fence. Basically, stay on the left path and after another 15 – 20 minutes, taadaa, the waterfall! The rock formations near the fall look like a side view of a person’s face. Cypress Falls Trail is breathtaking – full of Fir and Douglas trees! About 2 miles round-trip; really easy hike. Great for family and kids. It’s also dog-friendly!

My dog loved it here because it’s one of the few hiking trails where dogs are allowed off-leash. There’s plenty of space for hikers to spread out so we didn’t run into many people and it often felt like we had the whole wooded area to ourselves. There’s plenty of large rocks to rest on when you’re weary too. It’s not super clear where the trail is, but the whole park doesn’t seem that big, so it’s not terribly hard to find your way out.

Beautiful and easy hike! One of the reasons why I moved to BC is the wonderful outdoors. The sea and mountains at our foot steeps. Cypress Falls Park is a hidden little gem in West Van. My husband purchased a hiking book for me and I started with Cypress Falls which was a great choice because it was an easy trail for a novice hiker like me. Very dog friendly, and the falls it self is beautiful. If you are looking for a fun little hike I highly recommend this place.

Great afternoon hike. There are no signs along the tail, so be prepared to do some navigation. Just follow the water up and down both sides and you will make a nice loop trip. The upper part of the trail west of the river goes along a steep hillside, so watch your steps.

This is a great hidden gem at the back of a residential area. It’s a beautiful falls with some serious power behind it; at least when I saw it in early May. The trails are easy to moderate and you can go for quite a distance. To get to the lower falls will take about 15 – 20 minutes, but take your time and enjoy nature. You can also continue on to the upper falls. Just be advised there is not a washroom available but there is a Safeway and Starbucks on the other side of the residential area. This was a nice find as I’m not from this area and I would recommend it for locals and non locals alike.

I went hiking to Cypress falls. I have to say one of the most enjoyable and breath taking in all of Vancouver. It was an easy trail. For people who are starting up again with an exercise routine, you would love it. Its a magical rainforest setting complete with waterfalls and wooden bridges. An escape from reality and definitely worthwhile to see. It is a dog off leash trail for anyone who has a dog.
