Cutie Pie Wax Bar

Won’t go here again. What should of taken 1 hour like a normal shellac manicure took 1.5 hours. It took the girl a full hour to get the old shellac off my nails, usually it take 15 – 20 mins at any other place I’ve been and by the time she was done my poor nails looked so beaten up from her trying to scrap and peel the shellac off. Good luck with the hand massage, it was only about 30 seconds long. The only thing that I liked was they had nice colours to choose from. And one more thing, their nail clippers were all rusty. Not safe.

The last Brazilian wax I had at a different wax place was awful so I went into this a bit weary. I have heard great things about Cutie Pie through friends and decided to give it a shot.
The salon itself is super cute and totally fun! The front staff is friendly and I didn’t feel awkward walking in. My waxer was Ampo and she has the touch of a feather! The wax was just the right temperature, the bed was comfy, Ampo was very fast and extremely friendly and made the whole experience that much better! It was pretty much a painless experience. She also was very knowledgeable and professional and suggested a exfoliating tool for me without pressuring me to buy it. (I bought it because of that.) The room was clean and they even give you these little disposable thing underwear to put on during your appointment so you’re not fully exposed.
Cutie Pie Wax Bar has been the best waxing experience by far and I will for sure be back!

Lovely ladies attended to my mom, my aunt and I while we were being pampered.
The interior is very beautifully decorated with very feminine and elegant style.
The ladies provided great and friendly service while making us feel comfortable and relaxed.
Love the colour selections.

I was one of the first clients to try out Cutie Pie when they first opened in West Van (their old location was a tiny place by Park Royal!). I have never had a bad experience, I think they provide the best wax services in Vancouver.
I have tried several other wax places since moving downtown a few years ago and nothing has compared to Cutie Pie Wax. Their prices are extremely reasonable ($ 50 for Brazilian) and they have a choice between hard/​strip wax (I like hard wax and not many places offer this). If you are looking for a more professional wax place that doesn’t rush you in/​out this is a great place.

Things I love include:
— Numbing Gel
— TV’s with awesome movies to watch during the scary process of getting your nether regions cleaned up (Crazy Stupid Love was playing during my first time there)
— Nice, wide rooms — they even had a sink w/​soap :)
— Disposable panties — it made me feel less exposed and scandalous during the process. Does that make sense? ;)
— The option to choose between strips or hard wax (which is $ 10 more)
My aesthetician was Amelia. She was so kind! It did take a while (but that wasn’t her fault… that was mine lol) but I feel like I can’t make a fair eval of this place until I go back for an upkeep wax. There were some things missed but I feel like it’s because I waited too long (3ish months) for a wax. I’ll be very glad to go back because they offer a discounted price if you book within 4 – 5 weeks. :) Overall the experience was very comfortable and quaint!

Let’s be real ladies, I would rather help an enemy move than have someone slowly rip hair from my nether region. Or at least that was the case before I found Cutie Pie. As soon as I walked in I knew this place was a little different than other wax bars/​day spas that I had been to. Seriously, can we talk about the décor?
The gal at the front made me feel right at home and even cracked wise with me to help calm my nerves. By the time I was in the treatment room with Mean Girls playing on the TV in the corner, I had forgotten why I had been so apprehensive. The wax itself was quick and as painless as I had ever experienced (thank god for the numbing gel!). I’m now a regular and love the perk of the maintenance price :)

Cutie Pie is a charming shop, specializing in waxing and mani/​pedis. Although I haven’t had any nail treatments done, I can comment on their waxing.
The shop is adorable, and super clean. Staff people are friendly, without overdoing it.
When you go into the room, they have a towelette and disposable panties on the bed for you to use. Once you’re comfy, you can look up and watch a movie while the waxer does her thing.
They’re quick, yet meticulous. I checked the job once I got home, and not a hair was missed (I hate having to finish up myself!).
If you re-​book within 5 weeks, the price goes down to $ 44 from $ 50. And you can book online. As their site says: «Don’t let your cookie look like a wookie». Haha.

Sorry but you failed on the pedicure — at $ 45 you really need to step up your game. The foot basins move so you can’t put your weight on them, you have no polish dryers and there are no extras that would warrant me coming back — the foot massage was too short, no hot stones, no lotion etc. For $ 45, you can get a manicure and pedicure with all the fixin’s at MANY nail salons along Marine Drive. Definitely wouldn’t go back — front desk staff was mediocre at best. The only plus was the friendly pedicurist and the interior design.

Cutie Pie is the ONLY place I trust my lady bits to! Staff is super friendly yet respectful and always find a way to take your mind off what is happening below the equator!

Maybe because my last Cutie Pie experience was great, I under-​communicated. I did say to just clean up my eyebrows and said that I didn’t like them too thin. And then I got… Really thin eyebrows that are actually a little uneven. Not to mention she waxed off parts of my eyebrows that I was painstakingly growing in. I don’t know, a place as good as Cutie Pie, I guess I trusted them not to give me awful thin 90s eyebrows… Moral of the story, I wouldn’t count on Cutie Pie for consistency.

Best waxing place I have ever been to. The staff is great, quick, efficient, professional. The décor is living Doll House, which is suiting. I’ve been going for at least a year or more and can’t say enough good. I also love their «I Love My Muff» products — added bonus.

Hands down best place to get waxed. I’ve gone to a million different waxing salons and finally found my girl at Cutie Pie. She is awesome, fast, and detail-​oriented (ha!)
Will never go anywhere else. Plus they have the cutest salon ever.

I have tried out lots of different places for waxing, and Cutie Pie is hands-​down the best place I have ever been to!
First of all, Cutie Pie is just that; cute as pie! The décor is lovely and the girls are incredibly welcoming and friendly. I often see Lindsay for my waxing needs, but I’ve also booked appointments with some of the other girls, and they are all very professional and quick, but also thorough. The girls offer to use numbing spray on your goodies to make the wax less painful and they have TVs built into the ceiling! Amazing. I always book online, which is incredibly convenient.
One of my favourite things I’ve noticed about Cutie Pie that I haven’t noticed about other places is that after your wax is complete, your «waxpert» will ask you to take a look to make sure she hasn’t missed a spot. There’s nothing worse than one of those other wax places that want to get you in and out as quickly as possible, and then once you get home, you notice an entire strip of unwaxed hair.
As I said, I’ve been to several places to try to find the best wax place and this is it. I highly recommend Cutie Pie Wax Bar!

I love Cutie Pie wax bar. It’s a small salon but the service has always been great. It’s a bit out of my way because I live pretty far but it’s soo worth it. Now Brazilians aren’t the most pleasant things but you can request to get numbing cream so it’s less painful and you can also watch movies while you get waxed to keep your mind off of your waxing experience. I love getting vajazzled lol especially before my trips to Vegas. They have an extensive amount of stencils you can choose from. I’ve had this service done twice and the glitter lasts a good week. The Brazilians aren’t super cheap but you get a deal if you come back for your next scheduled waxing appointment. This is by far pretty much my fav waxing place because I love the fact you can bedazzle yourself after a wax and it always comes out super cute! I

Wow! What an experience. Needless to say Lindsay, Aleta and the whole crew at Cutie Pie made me feel comfortable, welcome and at complete ease during my entire procedure. For a guy that has VERY hairy legs, I was definitely a bit nervous about getting my legs waxed… but it was easy, painless and yes, it was fun too.
I highly recommend Cutie Pie for all your waxing needs! (and no, I didn’t get a «bro“zilian… this time ;-)

I have been looking for a place like this for a while and found Cutie Pie on Unilocal!
I gave them a call and booked an appt for yesterday as I was in dire need of waxage!!!
Arriving for my appt, the reception area was decorated really well… very inviting!!! Very nice cottage type furniture in their waiting area, something that should have wide appeal no matter your taste or age. The woman at the reception desk asked if this was my first time there and asked that I fill out some basic info which is something that I agree with, so no problem providing it. It’s not a huge space but it seemed to be really cute and really clean. The appointment room I was directed to was also very clean and I was given the little disposable string bikini plus and moist «cleanup» towelette. This was all really great!
The actual waxing was not painful, and she did a great job! I will be back in about 7 weeks lol! I highly recommend Cutie Pie for your looking for just a waxing service!

I have sensitive skin. Whenever I get a brazilian wax, I come home with a rash that last 7 days. I have visited so many different salons and wax parlour and gave up waxing for 1 year until I tried Cutie Pie! I came home with no rash at all as they say their wax is for sensitive skin. I am now going to be a frequent customer.

I had never gotten waxed on any part of my body before, so it made sense in my head to go for a full out Brazilian on my first try. I chose Cutie Pie Wax Bar because of their no-​nonsense website, and I had the best experience–
If you’re a waxing newbie, I highly recommend this place. When Lindsay found out it was my first time getting waxed at all, she talked me through the procedure and was awesome at calming my nerves. Lindsay used a tingly, numbing cream on me before starting, and the pain that everyone talks about was reduced to a very tolerable pinch. The room was adorable and extremely clean, with sunlight streaming through a window and a TV mounted on to the ceiling. I watched Clueless while Lindsay talked me through what she was doing, and we giggled over Paul Rudd.
So, super impressed! Thanks for the great experience :)

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Cutie Pie Wax Bar! First of all, the interior is to die for. To me, first impressions are everything, and just based on the website alone, I had high hopes! Upon walking in, you’re greeted by chrming indie melodies, vintage décor, antique floral patterns, and a beautiful chandelier above the reception; and though a tiny space, it’s filled to the brim with natural light! The more I explored through the restroom, and waxing room, I could see all the personal attention and expression they put into every detail. It made the experience much more personal and close-​knit as opposed to some of the more sterile and minimalistic environments I’ve been in.
And I got along so well with Lindsay, love her. I’d never had a bad waxing experience before, but till now I’d also never had such a great relationship with my waxer. She was so down to earth, open and easy to talk to. Never a dull or awkward moment with this lady, and I felt comfortable and at ease the whole time :)
With regards to the service, I booked online (love that option) for a Brazilian. Everything (tools, products etc) in the room was completely sanitary, from the disposable wipes and panties, to the spatulas and bed itself. She has excellent attention to detail and really cared that I felt satisfied with the final results. As well as her thoroughness, I really appreciated the numbing serum she used; i’m not super sensitive to pain, but i felt barely any pain with this stuff! She also sold me on some PFB Vanish (how did i survive without it), and I love her cute display of muff-​dedicated products for sale.
Anyway, I’m just so impressed with how ace my experience at Cutie Pie was, I HAD to write a review of it and share it with the rest of the Vancouver community. Happy waxing ladies and gents!
