Capilano River RV Park

The only reason I gave it a 3 instead of 5 was because you are packed in like sardines. Side by side you are very close to your neighbors but length wise your good with plenty of room for your tow vehicle. It is an easy in and out parking. They can handle any size RV. The park is nice and quiet, clean, close to so many attractions and some ferries. Stay to the West next to the river away from the traffic on the East side of the park.

I’ve stayed at this park on several occasions, with no great problems except a couple of issues. The staff are extremely rude and seem to take pleasure in that. The WiFi is almost nonexistent, so I’m not sure how they can advertise that they have it. There is no access to cable TV. The only real positive thing is the location. It has easy access to downtown Vancouver, either by car or public transportation. There is a shopping center within a 5 – 10 minute walk.
Recently I completed an online reservation for the month of May with no problem until I received a phone call from the park at a later time. I was informed that they were canceling my reservation because there was a problem with their reservation system. I had already received a email with a confirmation number from the park, but I guess that means nothing. The confirmation email quoted a price of $ 884.10. When I received the call from the park to cancel my reservation, I was told that they would like to have my business, but the price for the month would be $ 2100.00 now.
The manager of the park stated that there was nothing he could do as they needed to make more money, and he blamed the reservation system from «back east» that they have a contract with. He stated that the price I was quoted was wrong and it shouldn’t have been in the system.
I would add that I stayed at the park last year for the same month that I had reserved for this year. Last year I paid the $ 884 price and now the price went up by 237%. Wow, with management like that, there’s no wonder the park is still in receivership.

Stayed for one night. No problems, Wifi worked well. Didn’t have a chance to really check out the facilities. Note the sites are narrow (by US standards) but sufficient.

We stayed here for two weeks in October 2014. It’s a great park. The laundry facilities are clean and spacious, coin machine is in the main office, the staff don’t have enough change. There is a TV room if you want a break from you RV. Free WiFi is strong throughout the park, they have a repeater. Even though there are a number of permanents, the area around their RV’s is tidy. There is a large shopping complex within a five minute walk and good walks along the water and Lions Gate bridge are close too.

We stayed here this past weekend — I am actually scared to go back. The daytime security guard was — aggressive, assaulting even. He chose to pick me out and even at one point come and interrupt the movie I was watching with my young daughters in the lounge and rudely verbally attack me for no reason. When I was gone, he left a note on my rv, and refused me access to facilities. I fear that if I were to come back, he may go a step further and actually physically approach me. The fact that he kept daring me to tell management on him tells me that whatever the relationship is there, he feels safe doing what he is doing. If you have children, you should not stay here!

Just wanted to plug my Electric Vehicle into the electric outlet for an hour ($ 1– to $ 2) cost) and they would only allow me to pug in if I paid for an overnight fee of $ 52.00 and what made it bad was the woman enjoyed her position of being the holder of the socket telling the man (me) with the plug, $ 52 is the rate and that’s all we have !! She was pleased with herself and a big Canadian smile to confirm this as she looked right at us? Amazing lack of hospitality. She told us to «Have a Nice Day» with glee as we left? We were very surprised by how much joy she was clearly getting from her power position.
