Ate here a week ago and the sushi was very good. The sushi came fast. This is my 3rd time here and I will definitely be back. The only reason I am giving this a 4 star rating and not 5 is our server scared a crap out of all of us at our table. I waited a week in the hope that she won’t remember us. I have been scared straight. I will make sure the next time we can place our order as soon as the waitress shows herself at our table.

what you would expect from an all-u-can eat. Not bad

This place has the best sushi. Their sushi is superior to any other sushi I’ve had. I go here at least twice a month and the place is always super busy to the point where people are standing at the door waiting for a table. The waitresses here are rude. I’ve been here so many times and I’ve never had a nice waitress. They act like you’re bothering them by ordering. They’re constantly miserable and it really puts a downer on your mood. You have to wait quite a bit for your food, sometimes they even forget and you have to re order what you’d like. Their dessert options suck and their«cakes» are literally a tiny cube of cheesecake in a bowl. Don’t go here for anything other than sushi or you’ll be disappointed.

Good food, place is clean, has a lot of food to choose from, the only downside I could find is that the service is slow even when the place was ¼ full

We have tried sushi 8 many times since it opened and it has just gotten worse. The waiters are horrible, they always look miserable and never come back to the table after your first order without hailing them down. They also«forget» to bring you things if you order more then a few items. Although they do have some really yummy items like the crab pizza its just not worth the miserable staff and other bland tasting dishes. I don’t know how they stay open.

It was gross! The yam wasn’t even cooked properly and it was chewy like cud. Spicy crispy roll had cucumbers instead of avocado. Service was poor. Salad tasted like it had been sitting there for years!

Best sushi restaurant in Niagara! Great selection of food, everything is fresh and delicious, service is fast and it’s open late! My husband and I can’t understand how this restaurant could get anything but 5 stars. We highly recommend this sushi restaurant to anyone who wants the best sushi experience!

came here on a friday night… place was relatively dead… extensive all you can eat menu. not as big as some in Toronto/Markham area. but not bad at all. after we put our first order of 20 pieces of salmon sashimi. the lady returned with about 12 pieces and said. «no more. salmon no more.» our main purpose of eating here was to eat salmon sashimi… i had no idea if it was because she doesnt speak english or what… my friend told me. theres no way they are out… we ordered another 20 pieces and in our next order. more salmon came out… i have no idea what the lady before was saying. anyways. food is quite standard. interesting that they had a few dimsum options but the shrimp dumplings are all dough and hardly any shrimp. i would have rated this place slightly higher. unfortunately every single person working here walks around like their soul got sucked out of them… its like they hate life. you wont be greeted with a smile on your face… even when we tried to crack jokes. they give you blank stares and are generally grouchy. your food is not made with love here. ayce friday is 23 dollars btw

This was a decent all you can eat sushi restaurant. The wait staff was really friendly and the services was fast. The sushi was pretty good(but not the greatest). I’m pretty sure most of the kitchen items were frozen and reheated so if you are looking for fresh stick with the sushi. Also the lunch menu is pretty decent, so stick with the lunch(much better value).

Don’t waste your time at this place. You will be paying $ 13 for lunch or almost double that for dinner… for a meal that consists almost entirely of rice and cucumbers. They are extremely skimpy with the fish. Their cooked entrees are disgusting. Please, go up the road to St. Catharines where there’s more credible sushi to be found. Sushi 8 should be renamed to Sushi 0.

Could improve… but will try again. Finally there is an option other than pizza or drive-through in Welland. Service is not the best. Language barrier a problem sometimes and our particular server disappeared(and didn’t return to our table again but was still serving) after I asked for a food modification which was denied because they were«busy». Food is good but slow in between orders. Lighting could do with a brighten up. A little dark and hard to read menus when they have red text in low light. It seems that all the renovations of the past few restaurants at this location have just been handed down and«made –do» by every new owner that comes along. At least use the tv’s in the booths if they are there… or remove them… put a couple in the toilets(where they are missing) and put some art or something like menu holders in the void. Just a suggestion. Ours had the power cord just hanging out, clearly not intended to be used. The washrooms really need attention. The night we visited 2 out of the 5 toilets were out of order, the soap dispensers empty but a battery pack version on the counter and paper towel on sink counter not even in a dispenser, soaking up the splashed water from the counter. Empty TV recesses in the wall. More like a dive bar washroom than a restaurant. In my opinion the washrooms should be as clean as the kitchen. If this goes unnoticed you have to wonder what standards are employed in the kitchen. Overall I would visit again but I sure hope they lift their game a little and not become another Welland statistic of failed restaurants due to ignorance of local expectations or we will continue to make the trip to St Catharines in future for our sushi fix. Hopeful… 27÷5÷2012 UPDATE… Tried again tonight to give them the benefit of the doubt. Affirmed first impression… won’t be returning. Started off ok… additional orders were less fresh the more we ordered. sushi ok. other dishes sub-par. Way too pricey for the quality. Dear owners, Lift your game, mow the front grass, utilize the bar and patio, concentrate on freshness, lower your price or improve food quality. Maybe then you will have a chance of succeeding. :(

I am Welland resident — moved here 2 years ago. I was very disappointed to find that the restaurants in town leave a lot to be desired. I have tried most of them and find that the quality is average. Having tried Japanese food several times at different restaurants, I was happy to find that we now have a new one here in town., It was no surprise to me that Bravo closed it’s doors and has now been taken over by this establishment. I entered the doors to find the same dismal dark environment. It took a few minutes before I was greeted and shown to my table. I was give an «all you can eat» menu which offered the usual large array of food. Would it compare to Raw Fish” in St. Catharine’s or the wonderful Japanese restaurant in Whitby? I wasn’t sure, but willing to give it a try. I ordered my usual. Tempura shrimp, teriyaki chicken and beef, seafood salad, avocado salad, deep fried scallops, tempura vegetables and california rolls, followed by green tea ice cream! I know, it’s a lot. I do not leave with an uncomfortably full stomache. The beef and chicken could have been a little warmer, but were quite tasty. The green tea was hot and enjoyable. The salads were good. Tempura items were what I expected. I thought the california rolls were done very nicely in appearance and tasty. I have no complaints. The servers were attentive, courteous and willing to please. They were also friendly — as much as the spoken English was a bit tricky at times. I am told that the restaurant will be opening up a chinese food section soon and that there will be a salad bar as well(unless I misunderstood!). All in all, I think it was a good experience as far as the food is concerned. I would return. If I could make a suggestion, it would be to have something done about the atmosphere — better lighting, no canned music in the background(how about some gentle Japanese style music). The kitchen is visible at window level and I’m not sure where the sushi is being made at this time. There is a front counter near the door and I did see wrapped fish under the glass, but there was no one there when I first came in. A few decorations would be nice to take away the Bravo feeling. I really hope this establishment does well. We need some really good restaurants here. Right now there is a 10% reduction in price as a promotional. You can order food from home and have it delivered for free. I would say that I would give the place a 3 ½ rating to 4. That leaves some room for improvement, but not a bad beginning. Good luck!
