Located in the center of Niagara (Welland), Our school is proud to teach children from as young as 3 all the way to Professional Mixed Martial Arts Fighters. We have professional Certified Coaches and a wonderful training environment.

Niagara’s best, most active and competition tested club in MMA, Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu and Thai Kickboxing since 2008. We are certified with Combat Sports Canada and the Ontario Jiu-​Jitsu Association.

We also have a full-​service proshop with gear for combat sports including, Boxing, Kickboxing, Jiu-​Jitsu, Judo, Wrestling, Muay Thai, Karate, Tae Kwon Do etc.

History

Established in 2008.

Opened our doors in 2008. We joined Team Ascension in June 2008 and became part of the Legendary Carlson Gracie Team as well through Professor Omar Salvosa. We have been almost unstoppable in MMA competition since 2009 compiling a record of 88 – 28 in only 5 years.

In Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu we have won the Ontario Provincial title in 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013. Joined Combat Sports Canada in 2010 as we are Welland’s only school legally permitted to compete in kickboxing in Ontario. Partnered with Muay Thai Niagara in 2011 to bring our striking program to the next level and to bring our superior BJJ and MMA programs to them.

Won the Welland/​Pelham Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year award in 2012.

Proud to have 4 age groups for kids to train age specific as our program exploded in 2010.

Have 4 members and 1 Coach currently on The Canadian National Kickboxing team.

Meet the Business Owner

Chris B.

Business Owner

Chris is a highly respected Mixed Martial Arts Coach throughout North America known for producing elite MMA fighters who are always respectful and professional. He is a Certified level NCCP Coach as well as a Certified Coach with Combat Sports Canada.

Chris is a Brown Belt in Carlson Gracie Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu, a 5^th degree Blackbelt in Ninpo Japanese Jiu-​Jitsu and has been training in Thai Kickboxing for 14 years.

Despite his impressive Coaching resume Chris loves teaching the kids from as young as 3. «The younger kids inspire me and fill me with energy with their incredible zest to learn. I’m glad to start everyday teaching them as they charge me up all night so my Adult MMA classes experience high energy that started with our youngest students.

His MMA resume include 88 wins with only 28 losses including 13 titles along the way. The most impressive statistic of this team is the finish ratio. Team Ascension win 56% of fights via submission and loses via finish only 6% of the time
