The service here sucks and it always has. One«sandwich artist» a couple of years ago insisted on baking several rounds of bread and cleaning behind the counter while my husband and I waited to order one morning; she kept saying, «oh, I just have to do ___and I’ll be right with you.» Waited a few minutes and walked out. Lady, we’re the only ones in the store, we are starving and late for work — what you have to do is serve us and then do the back-end stuff when there’s no one waiting! The other day I decided to give this location another shot. When asked what I wanted, I replied«I’ll have a turkey salad, please.» The Subway employee audibly sighed and rolled her eyes, stomping off to the back to get more turkey. So, essentially, any turkey-based order would really have thrown her off her game. I’m sorry to be such a pain, asking for food at a sandwich shop. Whatever, I’ll take my business to the Bridgeport location instead.

This is my go-to Subway when I’m in Waterloo. To hell with the one at the University Plaza. The food itself is average and nothing special, however what separates this place from others is their unique cash register machine. The coins come out automatically from a dispenser after a cash amount is inputted and change is shown. Bills are still given by the cashier though. There was a wi-fi hotspot the first few times I came here, but that has since been taken away. However, if your phone is strong enough you can pick up the wi-fi at the town square.
