Established in 2005.

Formed in the Fall of 2004 from an association of professional music teachers and incorporated in the Fall of 2005, The Sound Factory Music School has flourished into one of the finest private music schools in the region. Its success comes from the caliber of its hand picked and entirely professional teaching staff and from its flexibility and attention to customer needs. Our soundproofed and floor-to-ceiling, glass-walled studios provide the perfect environment for our students to learn and grow. We offer programming to students of all ages, from preschoolers to senior citizens, across a variety of musical disciplines.

We’re proud to combine outstanding quality facilities and instruction with neighbourhood convenience and a dedication to customer service.

Meet the Business Owner

James S.

Business Owner

James has been playing the Tin Whistle for more than 10 years, and the Highland Bagpipes for 7, and has a great love of traditional Irish & Scottish music, as well as modern Celtic and folk music. He has performed all over Ontario at pubs, parties, events, and festivals, and he is a familiar face at a variety of traditional music sessions in the Kitchener-Waterloo area.

A collaborative voice in the original foundations of the Sound Factory Music School, James became an active partner in the summer of 2007 and has overseen the growth of the music school into one of the region’s finest and most respected academies of musical instruction.

James greatly enjoys the interaction with the students and families, and finds fulfillment in watching the evolution of aspiring musicians of all ages.
