Best drunk food! So many options just delicious.(Thou unhealthy) price is a bit high for fries but totally worth it

I ordered the«Wow» size double pork poutine. I’m not doing that again. The poutine was kinda good at the beginning. Nice meaty flavours, bacon, pulled pork, fries, gravy overload. Then it kinda slowed down to giant bites of fries and copious gravy. Then I saw I ate about half of the poutine. Only then did I realize I paid more than $ 14 for a giant tub of poutine with pulled pork and bacon. The poutine was ok, but I definitely ordered a too large of a size poutine. I’m not exactly if one person can finish a «Wow» sized poutine, and I wouldn’t recommend trying. The fries are kinda substandard frozen tasting, and the rest is regular poutine. It’s also fairly expensive, so might wanna just steer clear and find a more«professional» meal than poutine for a meal.

Nice hearty carbs right after a tragic final exam. Me and my friend shared a Wow size double pork(bacon and pulled pork) and it was delicious and the portion size was pretty big. The gravy is mediocre though, not much flavour, just feeling really gooey. After you had real gravy made from real turkey fat there’s no turning back lol. The fries were pretty soggy too due to the thick gravy. It’s better to finish the entire thing when it’s still hot, because after like an hour or so it does get pretty gross

Good poutine and nice staff. Live the rainbow veggie poutine. The nacho is also great. Philly cheese is another great option. For people that are picky about the fires I could see how it wouldn’t be there favorite but I will point out some people like there poutine like that.

Very disappointing. I don’t understand the hype for this place? Fries are soggy and not much flavour to any of the food, maybe if you’re wasted at 2am… Frites just down the street has much better fries and the poutine is really good, there fries are crispy so they hold up to the gravy much better. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Extremely disappointed for a company who specializes in Poutines. Fries are soggy gravy has little flavor and the whole experience has been below average. The containers are tight which cause condensation on the inside immediately when closed up. Would not recommend or return. Way over priced as well. Costco has a way better Poutines and that’s no eve their focus.

This place has the perfect food for when you’re craving salty junk food :) I love the choices for the specialty fries — my favorites being triple pork & hogtown. The fries are a bit over-priced, but there are a LOT of fries. You’re probably going to feel amazingly disgusting afterwards. Even though the quality of the poutine isn’t the very best, I’m giving it 4 stars because it’s just soo satisfying to eat sometimes. The service is fast and the hours are great, it’s open super late.

Smoke’s Poutinerie Review What we ordered: Pierogi Poutine, Triple Pork Poutine, Hogtown Poutine While Smoke’s Poutinerie offers only one item on the menu, they create poutines like no other. Smoke’s has a unique look; focusing on a retro theme and their own mascot, you can see and feel the pride the franchise has in their stores and in the attitude of their employees. They proudly display the newspaper articles they have been featured in on their walls, which gives a sense of community. We have been to several locations and each one has offered consistent, friendly service and an efficient, «get the job done» mindset. During our most recent visit, the store’s delivery driver returned to the store and made sure everyone was taken care of. Considering the employees have to master every aspect of the business; from cleaning the tables, taking orders from customers and also cooking the food, everyone seems happy and proud to work at Smoke’s. The menu at Smoke’s is simple and harks on the retro theme throughout the restaurant. Under each poutine is a short, easy to understand description of the contents. There is a very large selection to choose from and accurate photos of each on their website. It is a great use of small space and they have enough room to add more if they desire. By offering a Suggestion Box right at the counter, we are given the impression that they are more than willing to try customers ideas. If a poutine is missing a specific item that you were looking forward to, you can add it to any poutine for a nominal fee. The prices are somewhat expensive, especially for a large poutine, but guarantee that you will not leave hungry. Their selection of beverages we found to be very specific, brands not often offered. If you are looking for a huge meal, that will leave you feeling satisfied for hours afterwards, look no further than Smoke’s. We have enjoyed several types of poutines from Smoke’s and not once have they skimped on the actual amount of fries or toppings. The amount of food given is colossal, giving us tasty leftovers on more than one occasion. The meat has a delicious, unique taste and they are quite generous for what we assume is their most costly ingredient. The gravy is really special; thick and smoky. You can really taste each ingredient separately; which raises the question, why anyone would choose the plain poutine? Poutines are delivered in a coated, take out box which works perfectly for the hot fry concoction, topped with a nice sticker with their business information. We can think of many other businesses that could learn a thing or two from Smoke’s, there is genuine thought and self-confidence in each location. Our several visits to Smoke’s have been consistently pleasant; the staff are friendly and efficient, there is always more than enough food with quality ingredients for the price and the choices for next time keep us going back for more. We really hope they will someday soon open a restaurant in Brantford, because we would definitely be regular customers. Our favourite topping are the pierogi’s, they are so tender and perfectly cooked. We have been wondering if they would be willing to create their poutine on top of pierogi’s instead of fries, at a cost of course. Just a thought for next time, when we have to make the hard decision as to which poutine we want! Price Range: $ 4.99 — $ 12.99 Atmosphere: 9 Menu Selection: 9 Service: 10 Food Quality: 9.5 Overall Experience: 9.5 Quick-RR

Meh… Fries are ok, Curds wer not fresh(Fresh will squeek when you chew) and the gravy was too blend… Do yourself a favor save your money, cut your own fries and go buy REALFRESH Curds from Sobey’s(weber, erb) on Fridays… Pricing is a little on the premium side for such a simple dish and portions are nothing to brag about…

Gross. I’m not a poutine snob by any means, so for this place to completely gross me out with their poutine and cause me to throw more than half of it in the trash says a lot. The fries were tasteless and the piping hot gravy was so watery it pooled at the bottom of the box and steamed all the fries. It was basically a hot sloppy tasteless mess. If you’re going to specialize in poutine you should at least be able to pull off a flawless ‘traditional’ poutine. If you can’t do that then you’ve failed. I won’t be returning.

Decent poutine. I got the philly cheese steak. It wasn’t amazing but it wasn’t bad either so what can I say. It came out pretty quick and there were a good number of seats. Not a bad place to eat at after a late night I guess.

This place is amazing if you’ve been out on a long night drinking and you want to get a quick bite to eat. They have a wide variety of poutines but the fries were a little stale for my taste. Good joint for unhealthy food. It’s poutines after all…

Love Smoke’s! I try to order a new thing every time I go and I’ve never been disappointed. It’s not exactly gourmet but for what you pay it’s pretty unreal.

I came here on a weekend when I was in town to visit a certain someone at the nearby university and I insisted on trying Smokes after finding out there was one in close proximity. I visited with a group of friends and I was so excited to finally see what all the hoopla made about this place was. Okay, first off, this place is tiny! I ordered the bacon poutine and it was underwhelming at best. The fries are the epitome of «cardboard fries» and the gravy can be described — in chemistry terms — as TRANSPARENT, not even translucent… what is up with that? The portion was big though but that wasn’t the reason why finishing up the small size was a struggle. This Smokes experience did not go to waste however, I’m still on a mission to avoid it back home in Toronto.

This specific Smoke’s Poutinerie has never let me down. The fries are always made fresh, gravy is piping hot, curds are nice and squeaky and the toppings are to die for! The people working there seem to love what they do! Yes the fries will get soggy, that’s why it is best to eat it right away. Take away? Don’t bother! My favourite? Peppercorn gravy! That gives it a kick to any kind of poutine. Yes the poutine is a heart attack in a box, but heaven in my mouth! MmmMmmMmm

I have no idea what happened here, this place went waaaay downhill since it opened. We had friends here from out of town that had been hearing about Smokes for months and were really looking forward to trying it and after we talked it up to them they were looking forward to it even more. Well we went in on Friday night and the place was dead(first time going and not waiting in line which was nice) and the employees seemed impatient, rude and all around miserable. The only way I can describe our food is totally disgusting, I wouldn’t feed it to me dogs. First of all I worked at a few fast food chains as a teen and I know old oil when I see/smell it and let me tell you that oil hasn’t been changed since they opened, I would almost bet my life on it. Our fries were completely brown after being in the oil and totally soggy, disgusting and flavourless. Secondly our poutines barely had a drop of gravy on them, they were totally dry which just added to the nastiness of the fries. Last, the portions were about half the size they were on my first few trips, I know it has been a couple weeks since my last visit but what happened!?! Honestly, I just wound up feeling embarrassed after telling our friends how good it was. They clearly didn’t see what all the hype was about and I don’t blame them. I can guarantee I will go back based solely on my previous visits but if this is what it’s going to be like from now on I am officially heart broken. Fingers Crossed the pick it back up!

My friend wanted to go to Smoke’s Poutinerie on his holiday so I called him after work and picked him up. We both got the pulled pork poutine, and he got some added some peppers and hot sauce to his. He loved it. We asked for stickers and the girl seem annoyed. She only had to reach under the counter. The Waterloo location is super small, not many places to sit, so we grabbed our food and ate in my car in the parking lot. Food was delicious will go back again, but prefer other locations with happier people and places to sit

First time trying Smoke’s Poutinerie after hearing so much about it from my friends, and the famous Smoke’s Poutinerie logo everywhere I go. I tried the Hogtown Poutine, because honestly… in terms of the original you can never beat La Banquise. It was definitely what I expected, fresh cut fries with awesome toppings such as meatballs, bacon, carmelized onions… oh, did I mention smoked bacon? Delicious! My only problem with this place is the gravy is sunk to the bottom. I’m used to the gravy on the top similar to other poutine places I’ve tried. Limited seating room, so take out is recommended. Cash and debit only!

Finally open: A Waterloo location of the poutine restaurant empire that is sweeping across the nation to call our own. That would be Smoke’s Poutinerie. I was there on opening day and back again to scope it out some more! For those not in the know: What Is Poutine? Well, the classic French-Canadian dish has fries, topped with gravy and cheese curds. This Traditional poutine is available here at Smoke’s for purists, but the chain’s claim to fame is giving poutine the rock-star treatment by variations to the standard poutine with a number of delicious toppings that take the dish from merely stratospheric to out-of-this-world. As an example, take my favourite option: The Country Style poutine which piles on chicken, bacon, mushrooms & caramelized onions as tasty toppings on the fresh-cut fries from Smoke’s own potatoes and specialty gravy. First it’s salty and there’s the squeaky cheese curds, then you get the smokiness from the bacon, then again you get a hit of sweetness from the caramelized onions. In the end you have bite-after bite of poutine goodness. Not a sit down place, the take-out service here was fast and friendly, with a bit of a wait each time… even though it has just recently started, this location already has a lot of fans!
