Established in 1981.

Our company started in 1981… but our roots go even deeper than that!

Over 40 years ago, Scott Jacks was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes – the same disease that his father suffered and died with. Janet Jacks made the decision to change the path of her husband’s condition, his life, and the lives of their children. All her research pointed her in one direction: natural foods and nutrition as the key to healthy living. Food to heal, rather than harm. A fiery passion was born in Janet, and in 1981, Janet and Scott opened the doors to the first Goodness Me! Natural Food Market in Hamilton, Ontario. We started as one of the only resources for healthy food and nutrition information, and we remain so today. Since then, we’ve expanded across southern Ontario, helping people everywhere discover the power of food.
