Four Points by Sheraton Waterloo – Kitchener Hotel & Suites

Would’ve given this a two-​star yesterday.
Checked in here to write a three-​day exam at Waterloo. first night I got here, decided to adjust the thermostat because it felt like an igloo in my hotel room. Pressed the button three times and bam, I kid you not, sparks flew out of the thermostat. If I didn’t know better I would’ve thought it was magical. But the black mark left on the wall near the previously functioning thermostat speaks for itself…
After having narrowly escaped a near-​blinding experience, the operator nonchalantly gave me a new room.
And of course this new room just had to be chilly too. so silly me, I tried adjusting this thermostat again, and the casing literally fell off after I barely touched it.
I got a great view of the circuit board, and needless to say, I will not be touching a thermostat in a Sheraton hotel room again.
What bumped the hotel up to a three star for me is that after I reported this to a manager, she was really apologetic about the whole incident and gave me a one-​night complimentary stay at this hotel.
Right now, I just hope the rest of my stay here no longer involves explosions of any sort.

Friendly staff, great appetizer time, spacious rooms, free internet, free parking. Walkable to mall and Target.
