Searching for something a little bit different than the traditional colon clogging beach fare(fries, burgers, pizza, shawarma), my friends and I began a search of the other food options around the Wasaga Strip on beach 1. After realizing that our options were severely limited we happened to notice this little ROTI shop located directly across the street from Dairy Queen(fair warning they may switch to a more prime location next summer season). Ethnic food? No way! We walked in and were greeted by the warm, lovely smile of the shop owner. After chatting with her and finding out her story of what brought her Guyanese style of West Indian cuisine to the Wasaga strip we got to ordering our lunch. Half our party decided on the chicken and chick peas ROTI while the other half(myself included) went of the beef and Potato ROTI. The process for making these took awhile with 4 of us ordering and only one person working BUT as I was getting HANGRY I purchased a spicey beef patty to tie me over(it was flaky and melt in my mouth mmmm mmmmm mmmm good). Back to the ROTI, the deal on one of these gigantic bad boys is great, $ 10 gets you a ROTI and a drink of your choice(great selection). Also for the more adventurous, ask for the special Scotch Bonnet Pepper sauce to be added to your ROTI, you won’t be disappointed! Flame on! The meat filling was cooked beautifully and was amazingly seasoned and the SAWCE was BAWCE(I drool as I sit here and reminisce). However, word to the wise, find a table to eat this as it is not something you can hand balm or eat in your lap as we attempted — definitely a fork and knife situation. I recommended this place personally to some other friends who missed out and their reaction mirrored or exceeded that of my own as they loved every delicious ROTI bite. CASHONLY

Rotis are amazing. but you better not wuss out on the hot sauce! Be sure to ask for extra in little containers on the side too :) You have a choice of chicken, steak, or veg roti(I think) — And, if you ask her nicely, you can even get some chickpeas in your steak/chicken roti. just use a fork and knife or you’ll be a sloppy mess.
