Great spot for lunch with a pleasant view and hip & cool environment. First place we stopped by in Victoria as tourist. It was a beautiful summer sunny day and we got seated in the outdoor patio. Lovely flowers surrounded us and located right by the water, made it such a good time. They also have seating inside along with a bar. They have really good drinks here along with the food. We ordered the Pancetta chicken burger w/fries and Smoked meat sandwich w/salad. Presentation was really nice and served on a wooden board. The chicken burger was moist and not dry at all. Buns were perfect and tasted fresh. Chicken was meaty and perfectly fit in between the bun and ate without making a mess. The fries were crispy and not oily at all. Smoked meat sandwich had a very unique taste. The meat was good protein and the sauce inside complemented it well. Salad was just like any other salad and I had a vinaigrette with it. There was also a lot of good items on the menu that looked appetizing and will have to try some more next time I come. Service was very friendly and took care of everything. The price is high in my opinion. The type of foods and portions weren’t that big for the pricing listed. Despite the prices, it was worth it and still delicious. When I paid with a card, they brought the card machine to me and just paid at the table. Overall it was a perfect day from the weather, ambiance, service, food, and drinks. In the heart of Victoria, you can not go wrong with The Local.

Good for drinks… The view from the patio is very nice… The service is very slow… But is a fun place to be outdoors… Just for the ambience… Only one advice… Just be careful with the birds around… Or better do not sit close to the main entrance in order to avoid accidents with birds’ body fluids… lol… Haha!

The Local is set right in the middle of the city of Victoria. The vibe and atmosphere was great and the customer service was superb. It’s nice to hit up a restaurant like this in Canada because it’s so different and new compared to Seattle. My family ordered the Berry Mojito, Draft Beer and Bloody Mary which were all very tasty. The Berry Mojito and Bloody Mary was made so well that you couldn’t tell there was any alcohol in it The food was just as good as the drinks too. I recommend ordering the nachos and seafood pasta. Pricing here wasn’t too bad and everything was very clean. If you want a casual place to eat at in the heart of Victoria– I suggest eating here! The Local is good for big groups as well, that is, if you have a lot of people with you.

Had the chic peas wrap and it was extremely good. Thai carrot soup was average though. Good ambience and service.

The atmosphere is great, lots of young people on the Thursday night. We went to eat and drink. The service was fast, a bit of wait but not too much. I ordered a chicken burger with mac and cheese. The burger was very good, with a nice cheese all over and a proper chicken piece. The Mac and cheese was good with a nice cheese all over and the pasta cook exactly has it should. The prices for alcohol are a bit expensive and the food is not the cheapest one either compared to similar places. The local is well situated next to clubs, harbour and other bars. This is an ideal spot to start a night out.

Great food and service right by the water. I had the Double Smoked Bacon salad and it was VERY good. Good portion. The apple cider sangria was good too, but I’ve had better sangria. Still worth ordering however. Outdoor seating is refreshing and has a pleasant ambiance. Tables are glassed in so while you are still outside, you still have a bit of separation from all the foot traffic.

I stopped by for a beer or 2 at the bar and it was a good time. They have a lively atmosphere and a big outdoor seating area. If I’m ever back, I’ll have to get in on some of the food.

Seating was tight and it was HOT on a warm evening. I had to sit upstairs dining alone which was lame. Waitresses were super friendly. The pulled pork and poutine were great. The drinks were small and expensive.

Perfect stop to watch sun set over harbor and spin on glass of white wine with an amazing plate of nachos. :)

Brunch is an essential part of my weekend, so I was happy to stumble across this gem near the waterfront. The weather was a little cooler than we had hoped, but my friend and I opted to sit outside on the patio. I ordered a mimosas that came in a mason jar, which was filled with fresh blueberries and raspberries — YES. I ordered the pastrami sandwich and poutine(when in Canada…) and it was delicious. I look forward to coming back on one of my next visits!

Stopped here for brunch/lunch. Was very happy. Sat outside on the patio with a great view of the harbour. Ordered a mimosa. It came out nice and big in a mason jar with fresh berries. Ate the buffalo chicken wrap. Pretty intense flavors very filling. The hostess and waitress were really friendly. Service was nice, fast and extremely pleasant.

My boyfriend and I were in the mood for beer and nachos. We sat outside on the patio and ordered the small plate of nachos to share. The ditzy, pretty waitress rang it up as the big plate but charged us as if we got the small. Score! We also had to remind her twice to bring us ice water. Anyways the nachos were outstanding. Probably the best I’ve ever had! The chips were light, crispy, and perfectly salted. The cheese was magnificent and the toppings were perfect. I absolutely loved how the restaurant provided a small bowl of guacamole, sour cream, and fresh pico de gallo. Love love love!!! The service was mediocre but the food was amazing. Everyone looked to be having a great time and enjoying sunshine and burgers. We will definitely go back to the local next time we are in town! Highly recommended. Also the view from the patio is amazing!

We came to Victoria on a really nice day and were extremely hungry from traveling. The atmosphere was really great and the waitresses were nice but the food was extremely mediocre. I got the turkey club and it tasted like cardboard. The side salad was ok but the dressing was oily. My bf got the burger, it was good just a classic burger. Also got the triple berry mojito. It was good but could’ve been better. Overall I probably wouldn’t go back for food but if you are in the market for a cocktail and a nice patio atmosphere I would recommend it. Lastly, the fries were bad. Who messes up french fries?

We found this place by accident while walking around Victoria. ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is located on Wharf Street in Bastion Square, a piazza-like setting filled with restaurants, bars and a museum. The inside is very warm and cozy with dim lighting, bar, booth, and regular table seating and a loft as well. The outdoor seating with umbrellas has great views of the harbor and skyline. FOOD: Clam Chowder — Not sure if we got the wrong order but it tasted exactly like potato leek soup. The ingredients looked like it too. Maybe we received the daily special instead? Odd. Pound of Wings — 10 wings done in a honey BBQ sauce. Mildly sweet flavor and crispy exterior. Very mainstream. Tofino Linguine — 8 baby clams, 4 mussels, salmon(I didn’t taste any), halibut, and 4 prawns done in a light white wine garlic herb sauce sprinkled with asiago cheese. The pasta was cooked nicely but the amount could’ve been a bit more. The sauce had a nice mild flavor that didn’t need enhancements. There was way too many chunks of tasteless halibut, and the prawns, clams & mussels were good. SERVICE: We walked in without any reservations at 8:15 on a Thursday night and waited about 10 minutes for a table outside. The hostesses and servers were all friendly and professional. OVERALL: Nice place to grab a bite with a great view and moderate pricing.

This spot is absolutely gorgeous and super conveniently located to downtown Victoria and the tourist district. Right next to a very cool street market on Sunday mornings and afternoons, and the patio is filled with beautiful flower baskets. Possibly the best French fries I’ve ever had, and don’t get me started on the macaroni and cheese. It was absolutely to die for, and this is a must visit for locals and tourists alike.
