The Learning Nook is a Junior Kindergarten that focuses on academics, independence, social and behavioral development, and overall confidence in a positive, nurturing and stimulating environment.

History

Established in 2015.

Having received a grant from the Ministry of Children and Family Development of BC, The Learning Nook is proud to provide 8 childcare spaces for a minimum of 10 years to the community we serve. Doors opened September 2015.

Business Owner

I have been a certified ECE with special needs certification since graduating in Ontario in 1997. In 1998 I started working as a teaching assistant in a learning disabilities class within the York Region District School Board in Ontario. In 2001, I was fortunate enough to become the grade one teacher at The Academy for Gifted Children in Richmond Hill, Ontario, where I created the grade one curriculum according to Ministry guidelines and implemented successfully for 4 years.
