Good food. Good price. It’s a a blend between sit down and fast-food. I love this place. People seem to review swiss chalet like it’s supposed to be fine dining or something. It’s a family restaurant that does great chicken and ribs… best chicken in Victoria that’s for sure. Sometimes service can be slow but to be fair they don’t have a huge selection of people to hire on this island either. If your a business owner you understand that they can hire retirees(slow) or student(lazy) but the managers are always around to help out so that’s a definatley plus. Good all around place to eat and consitant quality of food.

If you have a soft spot for bad service, overpriced, overlooked chicken, delivered to you in a 1980s McDonald’s atmosphere then this place is for you! I could go on to elaborate on how depressing this place is, but I’ll save it for my creative writing class. Honestly, with so many good restaurants in Victoria, I have no idea how this place stays open

I grew up in Ontario, so Swiss Chalet is familiar and comforting. You won’t get a fine dining experience or high-end ingredients here — SC is a chain restaurant, owned by a large corporation that runs other fast food restaurants, and the food quality reflects that. Everything is oversalted too, as you’d expect. But it can’t be beat when you have a craving for roast chicken and potatoes. Unfortunately the sauce still tastes like soap to me. :-) I don’t recommend delivery — in my experience, those orders don’t seem to get the same quality control as dine-in orders.

Of all the restaurants I have reviewed so far this one is the most ‘meh’ sure the food is good like their BBQ back ribs but where this place really suffers Is the customer service. When I went their with my family we had to ask the waiter several times for more napkins he insisted it would just be a moment for him to bring them and our finger bowls but it took over 15 minutes for him to bring more napkins and fingers bowls just as we were finishing our ribs. Also we had to remind him to grab us some scratch cards for their own contest 3 times that he was supposed to give us. His excuse? «It was a long day» yet it wasn’t very busy by the time we got their around 7:30

WOW, one of the worst meals I have ever had. I ordered a chicken club wrap with fries(dark meat) to go, and I got a not quite warm, not quite cold dry as bones WHITE meat soggy wrap with old fries. The fries weren’t seasoned and tasted disgusting and old. The wrap was bland, and the cheese had hardened to a weird plastic consistency. The special sauce they are so famous for was just a water tomato mess. Their take out area was a completely separate enterance, around the corner, past the Tim Hortons entrance and it wasn’t clearly marked. We should have just saved ourselves the disappointment and went to Timmy’s for dinner. I will NEVER eat there again. Absolutely disgusting.

So this is what giving up looks like. The missus was off beef so where better to go than Swiss Chalet, home of only chicken and ribs. Memories from my youth suggested that the food was pretty good so why not? How was it? Was it possible for ribs that are boiled and then grilled to be bone dry? Why yes it is possible. It was a few extra dollars to «upgrade» honey garlic sauce and garlic toast(from a dinner roll) — garlic toast should only be considered an upgrade from a dinner roll in the most dire of circumstances especially if it costs you money. Two days later I was at Cactus Club which not only cost less but was far more comfortable and much tastier. My advice: Skip Swiss Chalet unless you have a chemical addiction to their gravy. Even then I’d advise you get the powdered stuff and make it at home instead.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Food was undercooked, salad was made from brown lettuce and slimy carrots. Is the restaurant chain really that broke that they can’t afford fresh product? The food poisoning confirmed that they’re saving on gas and electricty by undercooking their food. They just don’t care! No refills on the soda and I was charged for something that they forgot to bring me. Save your money and go to Romano’s Macaroni Grill on the next block.

What can I say, it’s the Swiss Chalet! Same as any other Swiss Chalet, great food, great prices, great service. Parking can be difficult at times but it’s the only Swiss Chalet in Victoria. I love this place. Doesn’t get any better than quarter chicken with white meat and fries. And I need atleast 2 servings of the chalet sauce.
