Maximum Express Courier & Freight

I have used maximum for the past 2 years to transport my companies christmas products. last year i was charged $ 140 to transport approximately 130 baskets to a business a half hour away. last year they provided exceptional service and were a pleasure to deal with. however, this year was a completely different story…
i called around 11am to ask if they were able to take my order (the same 130 baskets as i had last year) to be delivered same day to the same business as they were delivered to last year. the girl said that yes that would not be a problem the truck will be at my address within the hour. in addition, i asked the girl about the price and she said she couldn’t give the exact total as their staff are paid for their time and she did not know how long it would take. i said that would be fine but i would expect to pay very close to if not the same amount that i had paid last year for the same job ($ 140). she agreed. at 12:30pm the truck had not shown up so i called back to see what was going on. the girl on the phone didn’t apologize or anything and instead said, «they are really busy and will get there when they can». sure enough the truck didn’t show up until just before 2pm a FULL 3 hours after i had called.
a few days later i checked my credit card statement and instead of being charged around the same $ 140 like i had paid last year i was charged $ 185!
should have stuck with dynamex service, who i have used for all of my smaller shipments and have never had a problem.

There was a special delivery project I needed to help out with at work. We wanted to mass Christmas gifts to a local delivery person and have them take them out of the shipping packages, attach a card and deliver them to the recipients for more of a personal touch.
We did this in a few major cities in Canada. I think Maximum Express was the fastest to respond. They quoted us quickly and when it came time to deliver, they did so quickly. They did seem to have more questions than the other companies we used but they got everything done promptly. They were a little brisk in their communications but nothing terrible. The job was done as requested, and very promptly.
If you have a special courier job these guys are worth trying. Note: they take credit card but not AMEX.
