Breakfast was standard breakfast fare — nothing extraordinary, but a good, solid meal for not much money. The honey buns, however, stellar. Do yourself a favor and get one(or a few).

The waffle I had here was really tasty. I would go back for that. My boyfriend had the regular eggs, toast, hash browns breakfast and he said it was all very overcooked. So some things are better than others.

Found this little gem using Unilocal and it’ll be a staple for the rest of our trip for breakfast! Great prices and selection of meals! Only issue is the«fine print» as pointed out by my hubby… healthier options will cost you more(IE multigrain toast) and all of their jams/peanut butters are no name brands. Otherwise, this is a fantastic find on my books.

Love this place! Breakfast, boba, Asia and or American food; they have it all! Easy, fast, good and friendly. The homemade wonton soup is delicious. Totally hit the spot for breakfast!!! I’d be a regular!

I always order the soup(wonton or udon). It’s steaming hot, perfectly flavoured and the prices are reasonable. The owners are always friendly and helpful!

While my family is visiting Vancouver Island, we ate at the Honey Bun and was very happy with the service and food. The bacon was crisp and delicious, the hash browns were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, which we loved. Also had the French toast was very good. We highly recommend this place for breakfast.

I’ve been eating here for 15 years, and I can’t say enough good things about this place. If you enjoy fresh homemade Asian style buffet, then this is definitely the place for you. Hands down, one of the best lunch spots in town! Not to mention all the other wonderfully offered treats. From bubble tea to some of the best breakfeast foods around, and everything in between! Tired of the pretentious coffee joints? Yep, they do crafted coffees too! FOURSTARS!

We ordered the won ton soup which came piping hot and very satisfying on a chilly day. We ended up going back the very next day again for breakfast and left satisfied.

We went last weekend as we were looking for a cold drink on the beautiful and almost hot saturday. This is a small mom and pop shop. we found this on Unilocal so we thought to give it a try. The man at the counter was very friendly. I got a iced rose tea, and a bowl of won ton soup just to try. Husband got the combo entrée. from the look of the food, I knew the chinese entrees were not gonna be too good. after husband tasting it, he said Panda express would be better. My wonton soup was bland. I struggled to finish the wontons. and I usually hate leaving food unfinished. The rose tea was ok. and it was cheap. I regretted not going further to other noodle soups a few blocks away. I can see this is a small neighborhood sop, good for locals who aren’t too picky. But for tourists, stay away from the food, but take the teas to go might be best.

Me, my husband and our daughter & son-in-law enjoyed a nice brunch here before a day of sightseeing and shopping in downtown Victoria. The food is tasty, proportions generous, prices very fair and service fast & friendly. The breakfast scramble with sausage, bell peppers, green onions & cheese was a great start to the day. This restaurant also serves Chinese food and we hope to try it on our next trip to Victoria.

Absolutely our favorite breakfast place and the owner is a total sweetheart. Brings food and atmosphere to totally worth the experience. Food was delish and reasonably priced. Perfect way to start out the day! If your in Victoria turn the corner and even just grab a meaty bun! A must eat place for snack or yummy well rounded breakfast!

We took our daughter and her friends for a birthday weekend«Partication» to Victoria. We were walking around downtown and the girls got hungry. We wandered into Honeybun, and were do happy we did. The girls all ordered what they wanted, and were really happy with the food. We loved the spring rolls, and the veg stir fry dishes were super fresh and yummy. 6 of us stuffed ourselves for $ 38. Not fancy, but the gentleman working was so nice and friendly. This is truly a small local business in the old fashioned sense of the ideal. You have to love a place where you feel like they were just waiting for you to come in and are happy to see you. As we were finishing up, and elderly gentleman came in on a motorized scooter/chair thing, and furniture got moved and there was a whole lot of hustle to get him his meal. Genuine concern and service. Now there is a concept. Highly recommend.

I was here for an overnight trip in Victoria with my bf and we got up early Monday morning looking for breakfast without a clue of where to go and started wandering in the rain. We didn’t know where to go and just wandered around… lemme tell you, nothing is open before 11am haha. We found Honeybun and went in. It’s owned by Chinese people and has a fusion of Chinese and American food. The prices were cheap and the food is tasty! We got standard American breakfast and definitely couldn’t complain; it’s basically what you expect when you make breakfast at home =) The lady that works there is friendly and works WAY too hard! She was taking care of everything in the front by herself, from taking orders, serving, cleaning, cashier, and making drinks, while 1 other person was in the back making food. Major props to this lady! Oh! and the bubbletea here is awesome! It’s not often that places put actual tea in their drinks. Completely deliciousss! Although the food took a while to come out, I can’t complain since I saw how hard they were working and couldn’t believe how friendly she could still be. The lady never got stressed out! I definitely enjoyed my experience here and wish I could have tried the Chinese food here for lunch.

I wanted to try Chinese food in Victoria, though all the places in the small Chinatown were not very appealing to me. However, a few blocks away you will find Frank’s Honeybun Café which is a greasy spoon/cheap eats meets Chinese food type of place. It is a low key, cafeteria type setting restaurant. I was slightly put off by the Panda Express type setup of Chinese options so I avoided choosing a combo. I did not want the greasy spoon stuff either because I could get this back in Seattle. However, I noticed they offered wonton soup($ 4.99) here which I thought was a perfect choice given the nasty rainy weather outside. The wonton soup is not a large portion, but filling. Pricing is modest, so I did not expect much. There was a substantial 8 wontons mixed with some bok choy and broccoli in a chicken broth. It was hot, clearly made to order. A good warm me up meal overall. Totally recommend this dish as a cheap eat in Victoria. Overall, I like Frank’s. It is right in the heart of downtown. Definitely looks to be the place to pick up a substantial meal on the cheap in the area.
