History

Established in 1963.

Two ambitious young car enthusiasts (Dave Baird Sr. and John Bell Sr.) fresh out of school started this business 50 years ago with the intent of repairing vehicles for people who were inflexible about the quality of their car repairs. They created a slogan: ‘The Body Shop For Fussy Folks’ because of their commitment to excellence in automotive collision repair. The business continues to flourish to this day under the control of their children Jon Bell and Sherry Baird.

Business Owner

Jon Bell has been working in this shop since the age of 12. He started out in the wash rack, completed his education and became a certified Auto Body Technician. Ultimately, he was positioned in the front office and today he and his business partner, Sherry Baird, own and operate the family business.

Sherry started working in the office at age 9. At age 49, she is honoured to be business partners with Jon and celebrate Advance Collision’s 50^th year in business. As second generation owners they are proud to take their fathers’ business into the next generation. With her expertise in the accounting field, and Jon’s expertise in collision repair, they, and their team of dedicated Managers (Chris Bradley and Ramona White) and Staff, continue to lead the way in Victoria. They still remain the number one ‘Body Shop For Fussy Folks’ to this day.
