I love this restaurant. The breakfasts are delicious and really affordable, just like Brice M. said. As for the employees, I think they are all so friendly and they offer such a good service. For what David D. said. I don’t agree. Actually, in 2010, there was a new owner who didn’t last too long, before the old boss got the restaurant back in 2011. So about the new owner, it can’t get better than this. He’s so funny and down to earth. The shish Taouk I find is delicious and now they offer new fast food and these guys never disappoint. So for the price, the boss, the employees, the service, the food and the taste, I have 0 negative comments to say. I would just suggest it.

This place has a lot to offer. All their food is served with regular plates and real utensils, which I think is a nice touch. Their breakfast is really reasonably priced and they have some great pies.(my first experience with sugar pie was on an accident from here) I usually eat here for lunch, their Lebanese food amazing. I always get a shish taouk(chicken shawarma) and the potatoes. Their garlic sauce is spot on and I make them pile it on everything. The owner is a really friendly guy and you can count on good service if he is around. They will even sell you the chicken and garlic sauce if you want a portion to take home. Downside: If you go during a slow period, the Shawarma meat and the chicken can be dryed out. I have been there a million times and even though they recognize me, on occasion the girls who work the counter can be «bitchy».

I was jonesing for some Lebanese grub. I didn’t feel like heading downtown for my usual pit stops, and I remembered there was a Lebanese grub stop just a corner from where I live but never visited before. Bora Bora is, during summer time, packed because of their outdoor seating allowing my tobacco addicted neighbourhood to get coffee and a smoke at the same time. So I wanted some tasty Shish Taouk. What I got instead was the most revolting meal I’ve had this year. Don’t be fooled. I love all types of grub, from the sanitary challenged street foods I so enjoyed while living in the US right up to fancy shmancy haute cuisine, as long as it’s fresh and made with tradition and/or passion. I can freak out on hot-dogs as much as I will on foie gras. My expectations for Bora Bora were on the level with the type of fast-food Lebanese grub found in most restaurants downtown. But there was nothing edible here. The Shish Taouk was so dry it was dehydrated and tough and also tasteless. The rice was so overcook is had turned to paste(and there were no lentils). The salads were so unappetizing that I took simple lettuce with tomatoes and some freakishly bland Caesar dressing. The garlic sauce? Tasted no garlic because there was so much butter in that sauce it felt like I was eating whipped butter from the churn, quite revolting. The flatbread was good, but that’s because this restaurant had no hand in preparing the bread, it was store bought. I ended up eating the pita bread only. The only reason anyone should eat at this restaurant is because the Zombie Apocalypse Scenario is actually happening, you’re held up with your friends in the restaurant and the only thing standing between you and starvation is that food. Then and only then is it acceptable to eat at Bora Bora. Also when the zombies burst in and your boomstick is out of ammo, you can use the rock-hard dried chicken jerky as projectiles to defend yourself against the zombie horde.
