History
Established in 2014.
Flavours of Italy was established by a lovely couple at the end of the summer of 2013.
We the current owners aquired it on December the 31st and have made it home.
Having been in Italy for over 27 years Italian home cooking has touched our hearts and when we returned to Canada and learned that Italian food has changed over the years into something other than authentic we were sure that bringing back nonna’s kitchen to our city was the right thing to do.
Flavours is exactly that! Walking in you find a nice lady at the counter that will do her best to get from the kitchen exactly what you like.
Meet the Business Owner
Loredana B.
Business Owner
Born to Italian parents in Toronto in 1958, Loredana lived and breathed little Italy till she was 30. Her parents had a little local variety store on College and Crawford.
In 1987, she took a two week trip to Tuscany to visit family and decided to remain and oversee work on the re-constructing of the family home.
After living and working in various food establishments in Tuscany she met a wonderful man online that lived in Piedmont.
They lived together for 10 years and on their tenth anniversay he popped the question and they married on the same day that they had met, but only ten years later.
In 2013 after having had a sheep farm for 6 years and a recycling of plastic business for 5 years she sold all and with her husband decided to abbandon Italy because the economy of that country was destroying any dreams that people could have.
Italy to her, was a dream come true til 2011 but slowly after the financial crisis that dream burst like a bubble.
