Kind of forgettable food, got a beef fried rice which was pretty decent but not too much beef inside and the rice was a bit mushy for West Indian fried rice. Also got the chicken in the rough which barely had any meat and was all bone and the skin was soggy which is the opposite of how it should be.

The food here is amazing i’ve been to countless carribean restaurant and none is up to par with this one. The fried rice here is one of the best! Better than any fried rice around u name it. The service is very good as well as the place is a nice and friendly welcoming atmosphere.

In a completely unassuming plaza on Steeles West(between the 400 and Jane in the Black Creek neighbourhood) is an interesting-looking restaurant that’s sign suggests Caribbean-Chinese food, a far cry from the Hong Kong-style Cantonese food that I think most people in these parts call actual Chinese food. Along with a few token Canadian-Chinese staples, the menu lists multiple types of noodle and rice, but Caribbean-style. We ventured a «special» shrimp fried rice, along with a curry chicken roti and an order of spring rolls. While awaiting our order, it was easy to notice this is a popular drinking joint among(probably) York U students and that the server was obviously familiar with a number of regulars and with dealing with far-from-mild-mannered and drinking younger locals/students. The spring rolls were nothing to really get excited about, they seemed standard previously-frozen fare and came with packet plum sauce. The mains, however, one can get excited about. Portion sizes are thrown to the wind– there’s definitely a value-for-money thing going on here. Here, «special» fried rice comes topped with sliced fried chicken, and it’s excellent, mouth watering-ly-good fried chicken, bones and all. The rice was incredibly well flavoured and came with plenty of decent-sized shrimp –too many to count– and was probably large enough to serve 2 – 3 for under $ 10. Only the bits of egg were noticeably missing from this recipe, but it certainly was not to the detriment of this version. The roti came next, and was also large enough to serve 2+. While the chicken may not have been the best pieces, the curry it came in was clearly a home-made recipe, with clear chunks of chili and small bits of(inedible) lemongrass. Not overly spicy but not overly not spicy, just incredibly tasty and worth going back for. Lunch for two: approx. $ 25. 3.5÷5
