Canada’s Wonderland

I love Wonderland… I’ve probably been here at least 20 times in my 27 years of being alive, and every time, the experience never gets old.
A few rides that you should go on no matter what:
Starter rides (when you first get into the park) — Spinovator and Top Gun. My boyfriend maintains that he feels like he had a minor concussion after Top Gun — I still get a laugh out of that.
Mid-​day/​Finishing rides — The Great Canadian Mindbuster. This ride is a completely different experience in broad daylight versus night time when it’s pitch black outside.
Good at all hours (but additional cost): Extreme Skyflyer and Drop Zone. When I went on Extreme Skyflyer like 10 years ago, the ride operators messed with the cables as we were going up so we kept being jerked all the way up (150+ ft in the air), to give us a little scare. Not going to lie, I loved it. Also — get the person who is afraid of heights to pull the cable to let you down… it’s scary as heck for the person doing it, but adds some adventure if you’re an avid thrill seeker.
In terms of Drop Zone (a ride that takes you 150+ ft in the air and drops you down to the bottom in 2 – 3 seconds), literally anyone can do it. My 86-​year old GRANDMOTHER (yes, I’m dead serious) went on this ride screaming «never again!», but I’ll tell you what — she loved it and proceeded to do it a second time immediately after.
Wonderland is a great place for kids, teens, adults, groups, people who are/n’t afraid of heights, locals and tourists. Run — don’t walk — when you get the opportunity to go. Oh — and try the funnel cake — it’s AWESOME.

How can you be in Toronto GTA and NOT have been to Wonderland — the best amusement park in this area!
Wonderland houses tons of exciting rides: Leviathon and Behemoth for smooth and tall drops, Wild Beast for roller coaster that feels like it’s about to break, Windseeker, the rotating swing that brings you to the top of Canada’s Wonderland, classics like bumper cars, a cute and unscary ride for kids in their kidszone, or a day of fun with water in Wonderland’s waterpark.
They do go through security checks, so make sure you don’t bring water that has caps which are opened. I would suggest not eating in here you can, the food at Wonderland is pretty expensive. However, their funnel cakes are THE BOMB.
Wonderland now has the FastPass where you can skip the lines and their traditional season pass every year. It’s really worth it if you decide to go a few times in a year. Also, weekdays before or after elementary and high school summer begins/​ends is ALWAYS the best time, because there are basically no lines, so there’s also no point in purchasing the FastPass.
Nevertheless, Canada’s Wonderland is and has always been an awesome place to visit during the short summers of Canada with family and friends.

I just purchased tickets for 2016 seasons past and the price is pretty reasonable, I got it for $ 67 per person for the whole season, well I guess it depends on how many times you go there in a year, you gotta go there a minimum of two times in order to get your money’s worth if you buy the season pass. They should make more rides like the Scooby Doo lazer ride, because it suits kids of all ages, and there’s always a huge line up with that ride. Turkey legs and funnel cakes with ice cream, strawberry and wiped cream is the best thing there, my family looks forward to those. I saw that there’s a fast pass line up if you pay extra for the admission but when I try to purchase it online together with my seasons’ pass, I can’t purchase it, maybe wonderland still needs to work on their website with that.

A whole day at Wonderland, and my first time going to Halloween Haunt. I’d give it somewhere between a 3.5 and a 4 star rating.
Well having been a Torontonian all my life it wasn’t my first trip to Wonderland. The only rides I hadn’t been on going this time were Wonder Mountain’s Guardian and Windseeker. The former hadn’t existed on my last visit and the later had been closed during my last two visits, citing strong winds as the cause, ironically enough. I overslept slightly and we made the mistake of taking a long lunch break so the we ran around to as many rides as possible during the last hour before the park closed to prepare for haunt and host the mortal meal. We managed to hit most of the rides we wanted to, I got to ride Windseeker, finally. We did miss Guardian, but I’ll come back to talking about that. Anyway, the first half of the day was a success, I don’t go to Wonderland too often so the rides never lose their charm.
Moving on to the Haunt, I’ve never gone to it in the past because I had really low expectations for it. I thought it’d be a bunch of employees in subpar costumes attempting to scare you at night with a few laughable mazes. Getting back to entrance upon opening time for Haunt we found large lines and had to empty our pockets but the process went by quickly. I have to say I was somewhat pleasantly surprised with everything involved in Haunt. The costumes and décor were great and two (Streets of the Undead and Terror in London) of the 12 mazes did get a small reaction out of me, which is much more than I expected. Of course my friends, cowards as they are were screaming their lungs out from the moment we encountered our first clown at the gates. Not having ridden Guardian earlier in the day we decided to ride Zombies 4D, basically the same ride but a different game. Personally, I didn’t really enjoy the game portion of the ride but the ending was a welcome surprise.
Ending the day grabbing some funnel cake on our way out the park, the cake wasn’t so great the cold weather made it hard almost immediately, and the strawberries were mush.
Regardless, I love a good day at wonderland once in a while.

This is a review for HALLOWEEN HAUNT 2015
We went on October 31^st, the last day.
Noteworthy:
— The park closes around 5pm, everyone must leave for about 1 hour while the park prepares for the Haunt. This is also to ensure people who came earlier in the day and did not pay for the Haunt do not remain in the park and stay for the Haunt without paying.
— Price of Haunt admission + parking was $ 50 online. Advertised Haunt admission price at the gate alone is $ 49.95, plus parking ($ 20). Fast Lane (Fright Lane) tickets are extra. I think we used GroupOn or something.
It is advisable to search online for advance tickets.
What you get:
All the rides were operating normally except for the old fashioned carousel. There are several live performances scattered around the park ranging from acrobatics to a magician. There is also an on-​stage indoor performance at the Castle near the lake as you go right from the main entry area (across from the buffet restaurant)
There are also several makeshift haunted houses and zombie attractions. Most of them are similar, you go in, wind through a dry-​ice filled area and park cast members dressed as zombies jump out and startle you. Each haunted house has a different theme. This year for example one was club themed, another was themed on the streets of London England, another was an Asylum, etc. There are also black-​clad supervisor cast members inside with radios that try to remain inconspicuous and just make sure there’s no contact between guests/​cast members.
The lines for these can become quite large, we were not able to attend all of them in the 5 hour window from 19−24h, but there was usually ample standing room for the performances by contrast.
Most large restaurants are open but most small drink concession stands, ice cream carts etc. are closed.
There is a Fright Lane system (like the Fast Lane system) which gets you access to special areas in the haunted houses not accessible to general admission guests, and also works like a Fast Lane pass for rides. We did not opt for this. I think it’s an additional $ 40.
All in all I felt the value was par for the course. We were very impressed with the talent and production value of the live performances, particularly the acrobatics and stunts performed in the indoor theatre performance (this year called «Toxicity»).
The haunted houses were overall decent and ample effort was made on the production value. However you kind of just walk through them and don’t really have time to see much of the set/​background. The highlight of the attraction is simply cast members jumping out and startling you. The effort level varies from cast member to cast member, and you’re pretty much in and out in under a minute or two.
Just my personal opinion (If you’re reading CW) is fewer cast members, a little more visibility, a longer and more narrow passage/​attraction since you tend to just walk single file anyway, and less of the cast members hiding behind corners, more of the cast members blending into the surroundings.

The pumpkin spice funnel cake is the only reason this place gets 2 stars. The 50’s diner was disgusting… for $ 45 you receive 2 burnt burgers that taste like pieces of coal, fries that had been sitting on the counter for 10mins that are cold, stale and absolutely nasty… when you bring this up to the server… she stares at you blankly and confused because she had taken 5mins to even plate your clearly over complicated order, that blew her mind because you bought a separate order of onion rings on the side with the combos. I could have over looked the idiocy, if the food was worth it, but frankly I’ll never eat there again.
Halloween Haunt is a fun experience, the funnel cake was the best thing there… so in earnest, eat at the restaurant in the plaza next door so your experience is not tainted and you don’t have to deal with a person whose ability to function in life is questionable…

This is a great big, sprawling park that boasts some kick ass coasters. It is not a theme park like Disney, so the theming and character meet– ups aren’t so prominent. But it has a great range of flat rides and those coasters.
It is not cheap, but I do think that a day, well-​planned, can deliver good value. Arrive early, before the park opens by at least half an hour, have a ride plan and be prepared to walk lots. Unless you live in the area, I would not spend time in the water park. Be sure to buy tickets and parking on-​line for the best deals.
The range of food is good and their app is very strong on providing info on food allergies, so download if this is a concern.
Do keep an eye on the weather, we were there during a major summer storm and the park did a poor job of informing guest of the impending lighting.

Great park! Great prices! If your not familiar with the all day dinning pass it’s available in season pass format and or day pass from 30 $- an addition 80 on your season pass and you can eat every 90 minutes with the day one and twice a day with the season pass dinning every time you visit!
Totally worth it! You can also count on the park being less busy during overcast days and the rides will still run!!! Amazing no?
They also have instalment for season passes as of October to the following year so it doesn’t break your bank in one shot come June!
However, I am disappointed in this years staff. Every staff member I have seen working in the food areas are not only unhygienic but extremely slow like slugs. Yes, it is hot. I am hot too! But I keep moving when I’m at work!!! Common this isn’t a chore it’s a business.

Canada’s Wonderland is home to largest rollercoaster in Canada and is a whole lot of fun. If you go on a good day, you might just get lucky and not have to wait too long for people in lines. In this review, I will be rating every ride that I went on individually.
Time Warp — ⁴⁄₅
This was a good start off to the park. Seats 4 people at a time per car and everyone is in the same row. No loops, but its fairly quick and some turns are abrupt. This is the type of ride that will make you feel like superman.
Sledge Hammer — ³⁄₅
This is the type of ride that will make you nauseous if you have a weak stomach, which I do. Its not particularly scary, but the sudden rises and falls take a toll on you and are way more emphasized in the ride than when your watching from the outside.
Psyclone — ³⁄₅
This ride made me really nauseous, but its really fun. Its an amazing ride. Really cool concept and it feels like you’re upside down at times.
Behemoth — ⁵⁄₅
This is one the best rides in the park. I never got a chance to go in the front, but I believe its well worth the extra wait. Starts off with a very steep climb (you feel like you’re sitting on your back) and the drop is like a 75 – 80 degree angle. After the first drop, the rest of the ride is extremely fun and the view is pretty great too. I had to go on this twice.
Krachenwagen — ²⁄₅
This is basically bumper cars, but you’re forced to go in one direction. There are a bunch of cars so you’re experience is going to depend on how many adequate drivers there are with you. If there are a lot of people who suck at driving, you’re going to spend most of your time stuck behind a plethora of cars. I went on this twice; the first time was fine, no problems but the second time was a miserable experience.
Thunder Run — ⁴⁄₅
This is a really relaxing ride. Its not scary, but it can be a little quick. Half of the time you’re in the dark. Its a pretty cool experience, but not worth the wait if you’re looking for a thriller.
Leviathan — ⁶⁄₅
Best ride of the park, hands down. Definitely sit in the front. The climb isn’t as steep as the behemoth I think, but the drop is essentially 90 degrees; you are falling face first. Its very fast and very long and if you decide to get on this you’re going to have a really good time.
Vortex — ⁴⁄₅
This ride is really fun. Kinda similar to time warp, but I found this one a lot more fun. It’s fast and above the water. Definitely ride this one.
Windseeker — ³⁄₅
Very high. Took this ride simply because of the view, which was amazing. You get to see the entire park. At the apex, it spins pretty fast, but for the most part, it’s a calm ride.
Timberwolf Falls — ¹⁄₅
You will get wet. Very wet. I didn’t like this ride at all because I wasn’t expecting to be drenched. However, if you’re dressed appropriately, you’ll have a good time. It is very short and uneventful though.
Shockwave — ³⁄₅
This one is actually pretty fun and doesn’t make you as nauseous as it seems from the outside. Its pretty crazy, but not nearly as fast as it seems from the outside.
Klockwerks — ³⁄₅
This one had no lines and it was basically swings going in a circle. Pretty relaxing and fun.
Swing of the Century — ²⁄₅
I was pretty nauseous after this one. But to be fair. I was pretty nauseous before the ride too. Uneventful, but fun and relaxing. Its fairly similar to Klockwerks.
Flight Deck — ⁵⁄₅
Really, really fun! It hurts though if you don’t remember to forcibly keep your head back. Loops and all; its pretty fast. I highly recommend this one if there isn’t too long of a line. I did feel a little nauseous after though.
It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this park to anyone who’s looking for a thriller adventure or simply to have a good time. But, do note that the ring toss is extremely hard and not worth the money; choose a different game.

If you plan on coming to wonderland be sure that it’ll cost more than you think. Here is the cost breakdown and you should take them all to have a fun and valued day.
Tickets: buy it online 3 days before you go for better pricing $ 41.99 can also buy at Costco if you have membership for $ 39.99
Fast lane or fast lane plus: this is a must buy if you plan on hitting the major rides. The lineups can be anywhere from 1 – 3 hours for a 30 second ride if you have the bypass line hing the wait is between 5 – 25 minutes. Meaning you make more rides out of your day and ride good rides multiple times. Try getting a party of 4+ to get better savings. If you are under the four I highly suggest your party or yourself just wait around the fast line ticket booth in front of wonderland and lots of people will come and ask them to join your group so you can save together this is what I did. You all pay separately.
Food and drinks: buy the all day drink pass online and also the all day dine pass it’s better value if you are there in the park at least 7 hours plus.
Parking is crazy arrive early to get the better spot. Although parking close to the gate is more convenient in my opinion parking closer to the exit of the park is better just walk it there and back.
My favorite rides were the sledgehammer, Cyclone, riptide, and ride all day levithan that is the best coaster so smooth and fun at the same time.

Wonderland is Wonderland, there isn’t much to say about it.
There’s not really anything here in the GTA that is like it, and nothing can compare.
Wonderland will always be, just like anyone else here, part of my childhood. I’ve been coming here as a small child, and even recently a couple weeks back. I’ll be honest … It’s not as fresh and exciting as it once was when I was younger, but I still enjoyed myself!
Great sweets, souvenirs and even carnival games. But the ONE thing that always gets me when coming here, is the food prices. Wanna eat at Teriyaki or Pizza Pizza for almost triple the price? Then come to Wonderland. Honestly, I understand why they do it … But come on.
All in all, awesome rides, phenomanal water park. Just be sure to wear comfortable running shoes and dress nice! Because you will be sweating from all the walking you will be doing.

This is a real Toronto landmark. It’s heavy on roller coasters, for all you adrenaline junkies out there. In my review I will focus more on what’s suitable for young kids.
The kids area of the park is a big hit. There aren’t many rides suitable for kids 3 yo and under, but most of the rides are suitable for 4 yo and up. I believe the minimum height requirement is 36″. There’s a nice area with dozens of full-​scale Dinosaur models, some of which are mechanized. It’s a separate fee to enter this area, but it’s not expensive.
The water park is also awesome with nice slides and a wading pool for younger kids. There’s a beautiful wave pool which creates very gentle waves. It is very elegant and clean with a large seating area, and even a «VIP» section with nice patio furniture and towel service.
There may be a various performances in the theaters within the park, some of which are free of charge.
I do have a few complaints. First of all, the line ups for the rides can be very long. I understand you can buy an express pass, but I don’t believe it applies to the kids area. Second, there is a fair amount of price gouging. Entrance fees are high for a single day ticket. If you intend to go several times in one season, you are far better off buying a Seasons Pass. Moreover, the Seasons Pass will give you a discount of 10% throughout the park. In addition, it will allow you to offer a discount for friends who wish to purchase a day pass. Parking is $ 20, so make sure you also upgrade your Seasons Pass to include the parking. Food in the park is also very expensive. A lunch would set you back around $ 15. A bottle of water from a vending machine will set you back $ 4! (you may want to bring a water bottle to refill from the many chilled-​water fountains located throughout the park.) Stroller rental, should you need one, will set you back $ 25 for a double.

For food, the only reason you would want to come to Canada’s Wonderland is for the funnel cakes. Everything else is overpriced and they do not allow you to bring anything in. You could go to Tim Horton’s inside the park for everything else but everybody should at least try to the cakes at least once.
Funnel cakes greater than all.

Love the place.
What unique about it that has waterpark inside the Wonderland.
I can always go back and forth to play both.
I suggest to buy 2 days ticket, one day to spend in splashworks and 2^nd day enjoying the rides.
Buy the ticket online to save money.
There is a Live Dinosaurs exhibition also.
It has Planet Snoopy where has rides for the little one.
Adult will Enjoy as well with many thrilling roller coasters that make you leave your heart up in the sky

Ahhhh Canada’s Wonderland. This has been a place I have visited many times, however this year was the first time I got a season’s pass and am really able to enjoy many different things, because I have more time. The older I get, the more I realize how terrified I am of the rides, and although I have enjoyed many of them, the Splash Works is what draws me in now. LOVE LOVE LOVE splash works! I am enjoying every single slide and pool and am looking forward to my next visit.
Amazingness:
1. The shows! I would like to plan to attend some, instead of just happening upon them as I wander around the park
2. The mountain still looks as good today as it did years and years ago
3. The water/​light show at the end of the night when the park is closing. One of the nicest «please leave we are closing» shows I have ever seen
4. Funnel cakes. If you haven’t had them. YOU NEED TO
5. Staff are great! I have found them all good to deal with, and zero complaints!
Drawbacks:
1. Whatever happened to the signs telling you how long the wait would be from that point? I wish they would bring those back as it would help me plan my day better
2. Swimsuit dryers in the bathroom would be so useful!
3. Provide plastic bags to put wet swimsuits in. For the price of the lockers this is miniscule
4. $ 16 locker rentals for the smallest one GULP! I pay it, but it’s pricy. I would try to do without, but really where would I put my phone?
5. Bathrooms need some serious updates. Considering the park gets a new ride every year, perhaps it’s time to put some effort into the bathrooms. Every single one smells like pee.

There is really nothing else that compares to Canada’s Wonderland anywhere remotely close to the GTA or Southern Ontario for that matter. If you want to get on rides you can opt for the occasional midway carnaval that pops up across the GTA or the CNE, both of which are just carnival rides and most often lacklustre overall.
The rides at Canada’s wonderland range from simple carousel to high-​flying roller coasters. There is literally something for everyone. Don’t expect gourmet food but also know that there is no other place nearby that offers funnel cakes!
Admission includes access to the waterpark «splash works» and it isn’t half bad. Outdoor wave pool anyone? :)

I have been to Universal studios in Orlando and LA, Six Flags in New Jersey, and Disneyworld in Forida, so keep in mind that I am comparing my experience at Canada’s Wonderland to these parks. I also love coasters, and I can tell you that I was pleasantly surprised with this park, to tell you the truth. My hubby and I were on a visit in Toronto from NJ, and decided on a whim to go there. I checked it out online first to see if it was worth it, and the copious amount of coasters available convinced me.
I absolutely LOOOOOVED Leviathan! That coaster is one of the craziest ride I have EVER done! It comes second to Kingda Ka in Six flags great adventure for me. The first drop is so insanely high and long, my scream had to be in 2 parts. Actually, I couldn’t scream for the first few seconds, since my HEART was up in my throat, blocking my vocal chords!!! Oh my! After that, I went straight to Behemoth, the other monster coaster at the other end of the park. I figured, after Leviathan, I can do anything! Well, Behemoth did the same effect, I was disheveled (figuratively and literally) during and after that ride. Behemoth is like Nitro’s (Coaster in Six Flags NJ) twin. My 2 favorite of the park!
Now, I feel it’s my duty to warn you guys against THE WORST ride I ever did, EVER, IN MY LIFE: «Wonder Mountain’s Guardian». What a SCAM!!! It is supposed to be an «interactive game experience» instead, it is some cheaply made, poor excuse of a «dragon quest» theme, whatever that was. If you like simulation or 4D types of rides, you should go to any Universal studios park, and they will definetely show you how it’s done. I loved the Transformers ride in Universal LA, or The mummy/​Spiderman ride in Universal Florida for exemple. THAT «Guardian» ride sucked! We waited for about 30 mins, to just sit in a coaster car, being pulled up the styrofoam mountain, shoot with non working «guns» at very shady animations of critters, with non working 3D glasses on, the dragon? pfffff… please! A joke. You can skip that ride, trust me!
I also rode the Psychlone and really enjoyed it, the sledgehammer was out of service, which was such a bummer for me, as I was really looking forward to try this strange looking ride.
Their mini shows throughout the park are ok but too short, we however really loved the «Dimensions: a CIrque experience» show, it was 30 mins, and really good, reminescent of cirque du Soleil.
The food is indeed unnecessarily expensive, but isn’t that what they do at EVERY amusement park? I however highly recommend the funnel cake with strawberries and ice cream, it’s DEE-​LICIOUS!
The kiddie and waterparks are of a good size, and I saw many families having a wonderful time.
There is a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy, so if you are in or visiting the Toronto area, I highly recommend it!

I might be biased but I love this place! My whole family use to go once a year in the summer just for a day of rides and playing in the water park. Food is pricey and you can’t bring in snacks, so plan out your meals! Sometimes we just picked lunch time to head out and eat some where nearby.
Tickets are also expensive so pick a day, plan it out, and figure out where you want to go and what you want to do. :) lines can get pretty long when all the kids are out of school.
For the most part, the park is fairly clean. Garbage disposal stations are very frequently placed. The washrooms are pretty gross so be prepared!
The rides are fun, fast and safe so why not have a nice adrenaline filled day once on a while?

the best place ever!!! been here almost every year of my life since I was a little kid.
Don’t know how it can be any less than 5* since it’s the best and only big amusement park in Toronto!
for those who do not know, AVOID THE WOODEN RIDES — Minebuster & Wild Beast!!! Trust me, or try it so I can say I told you so:
MINEBUSTER shakes the hell out of you since it’s so damn bumpy and wooden, which might be okay, but there’s this thing that goes over your head and your head will just infinitely knock back and forth on that holster which will repeatedly crush your ears until the end. WILD BEAST is so old and shitty I can’t even describe how much I regret it every time I forgot and went on. You will feel like it’s 3 minutes of complete torture. it is so FAST and CRAZY ROUGH AND BUMPY that you will feel like your heart and lungs are getting bumped around outside of their rightful places in your chest.
The most intense (and not painful) rides are Leviathan & Behemoth :)

I love amusement parks, and I’m addicted to adrenaline. So I was really excited to visit Wonderland, because I thought it would be even better than Six Flags Mexico.
I was wrong.
The park is old, the rides are average, and the owners must repair the washrooms. I couldn’t believe what I saw there…
The best rides were Leviathan, the Drop Tower, and the Behemoth. I would’ve been angry, if we needed to wait on line long time for the other rides. Fortunately, it was a rainy day, and there weren’t line ups.
Everything was average until we arrived to the Wonder Mountain’s Guardian. It was raining cats and dogs; we were soaked; and we were asked to leave our bags on the lockers in order to access to the ride. So we did, but we went to the washrooms located down the fake mountain as well… OMG… There were several waterfalls falling from the ceiling of the girls washroom. The water level over passed my tennis shoes, and there were two desperate cleaning ladies trying to deal with that mess… Of course, was pointless… Couldn’t take a pic or video cuz I left my phone in the locker.
The lack of maintenance of those washrooms made me feel in danger, so I was scared every time the rides made funny or awkward noises…
Won’t go back.
