Benvenuti

This review of Benvenuti is based on the experience during Savour York Region’s Restaurant Week.
Benvenuti is located inside Entertainment Central Complex which includes Wendel Clarke’s, Yuk Yuk and Berlin Nightclub. So when you went inside the building, you will have Wendel Clarke’s on your right and Benvenuti on your left.
Benvenuti serves Italian food in a more casual setting. The Savour York Region’s lunch ($ 15) and dinner ($ 20) are the same so coming here for lunch seems like a logical choice!
Insalata Verde
— House Salad in Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing has a feel of the package salad I got from the supermarket. But I don’t really mind since as this price point, I am not expecting too much!
— The problem was that the greens were all drowned in the dressing, just overly oily and acidic!
— I did let the cook knows about my concern since she asked me from her open kitchen!
Seafood Linguine in Tomato Sauce
— Pasta was cooked well, al dente with a good bite and texture
— Seafood plentiful with big scallops, shrimps and mussels
— Mussels though not the fresh PEI mussels
Tiramisu
— Nicely done, the cook said she made it herself…
— rich and creamy texture, full of flavour
Since it was not busy, my over enthusiastic waiter took good care of me.
Will I be back? Only if it is the special $ 15 menu… if I am paying full price, my experience would have been a 2.5 star!
