Zero stars. Completely unethical, $ 80 plus tax for nothing. $ 280 once in the house to even diagnose the problem. Run from this company as fast as you can. Nobody works like this.

My experience has been the same as the others. Told $ 80 which would be waved if I used their technician to do the repair. I already knew the pump was gone on my washing machine and told him so. He concurred and said $ 280 for the repair. E said he has a part the thought would fit but it turns out it wouldn’t. He handed me a paper to sign agreeing to the service before trying the part. I didn’t notice till after I signed it that there was a blank space for the $ 280 repair fee which he wrote in after I signed. The part he had wouldn’t for so he said it would be another $ 375!!! I said no way. The machine isn’t worth it. He then charges me the $ 280! Um well what happened to the $ 80!!! I called the main office and customer service quotes me the dictionary definition of service! I told her that I had a very specific conversation about what he $ 80 charge was for and Anna the customer service rep claims that I wasn’t making sense. She then stated the calls are recorded so I told her to pull the recording. I am giving them a week to get this recoding. I refused to sign the final bill. I will be going after them with this and see if I can include the better business bureau. Stupid me for not checking on Unilocal first!!! So mad at myself for that. I called a parts supplier and was quoted $ 175 for the part. Not sure why appliance repair guys felt $ 200 would be an appropriate mark up!!! I will report back what happens next. ***update*** I purchased the part for $ 175 and fixed the machine myself in less than 10 mins with no previous experience. Further to this I had a conversation with my credit card company and they are attempting to retrieve the money from the culprits bank. Have the charges reversed. I will be reporting this incident to the better business bureau once everything is resolved.

If I could give these guys less than one star I would. Check out Homestars for more reviews. I was quoted $ 80 for a service call but when the technician got there he charged another $ 200 labour for a diagnostic that took less than 20 minutes. We had to sign a formal labour quote approval or the guy wouldn’t even look at the fridge. This was not explained when I got the original quote of $ 80 so I consider this to be a dubious business practice. I was then told that they couldn’t find the part they needed, customer service told me it was because the technician incorrectly recorded the model number. They then confirmed that the parts were not available as the fridge was too old(GE Monogram — about10 years old) and the parts were no longer made. I found the parts online with GE in about 5 minutes and available for next day delivery. The company did not return my call after that. I got another service provider who fixed it — parts and labour– $ 300. I would advise anyone to avoid this company and to check with Homestars to locate a more reputable repair company.
