History

Established in 2005.

Your Score Booster began in New York when Richard was working as a newspaper reporter and columnist. In 2008, Richard moved to Vancouver and continued tutoring the SAT in Vancouver students interested in attending U.S. schools.

Business Owner

Your Score Booster has been teaching the SAT and ACT for more than a decade. Owner Richard Dalton has degrees that cover all topics on the SAT: an undergraduate degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in journalism, which covers critical reading and writing. Richard worked at a top New York newspaper, Newsday, and also taught advanced journalism and investigative reporting at The State University of New York. In 2005, he took a 51-​hour Princeton Review training course on teaching the SAT. Combining his training with his educational background, he developed a The Dalton Method™ of test preparation, which is demonstrated to dramatically boost test scores.
