Delicious cake at a decent price. Beautiful cakes that can be customized with fondant cake topper or edible printed photos. My favorite is the lychee& mango mousse cake. Lychee mousse is decent, mango mousse is good. But combined together is heavenly! When in season, get their fresh mango cakes. For those who like durian, they got a fresh and light one that I enjoyed. I have yet to be disappointed with any of their flavoured mousse cakes. Chocolate, strawberry with fresh strawberry bits, coconut. The list goes on.

I love this bakery. It was recommended to me by a friend and it was recommended to my friend from her friend. The store doesn’t sell any pastries, so don’t go there to buy any baked goods. But it’s great for customized cakes. I love their mango cake. Very fresh and even better than Ana’s cake house. The cream is not heavy and thick. Best of all, they can turn around a freshly made cake in 4 hours!

Helen makes a really good sponge for her fresh fruit cakes. For those who like durian, it’s the best! After discount, a 8″ cake is $ 30, but it’s worth it because the cake is light, not too sweet and loaded with super fresh fruits(not those can fruits). HIGHLY recommend!

Awesome awesome awesome! Vanilla sponge with mango mouse is so good. Their ingredients are fresh, the sponge is moist and the mouse was the best I’ve had. For my birthday I had the green tea sponge with lychee mouse. OMG! This cake did not disappoint! I’ve had green tea sponge from other places and I could never taste it. Yan’s green tea sponge had flavor and wasn’t dry. The lychee mouse had the hint of flavor so it want over powering. I appreciated that since it would’ve overwhelmed the sponge flavor. This is now my go to bakery for Chinese cakes!

My first time here was in spring of 2012. I didn’t know a bakery exist here because I seldom drive along East Hastings and I don’t live in the area. However, I was referred to this bakery by a friend who had her wedding cake made here. She said everything about the place was positive so I went there to give this place a try for MY birthday cake. I ordered blueberry mousse cake and it was just delicious! Ever since then I have been going back to Yan Bakery for more birthday cakes and wedding cake. The only issue I had was with the wedding cake as it arrived late because the driver had an incident along the way and Helen had to deliver the cake herself. Overall, I have positive experience with Yan Bakery. Yan Bakery is easy to find. It’s 1.5 block east of Victoria Drive on East Hastings. Same strip mall as 7 – 11. There is free parking in strip mall.

This bakery always buys the best quality fruits from my dad. Their cake with fresh mango slices draping along the sides is so light and fluffy. Moreover, they make the lightest black forest cake! Usually black forest cakes are cumbersome tasting, but theirs is like a delicious cloud. The shop is family-run, so the service is always friendly and prompt. I have had many a birthday cake from this establishment.

The only thing I order here is the Fresh Mango Cake. I get this cake every year on my birthday and now all my friends want this cake for their birthdays too! This cake is a simple sponge cake(Chinese sponge cake) with a layer of fresh cream and mango chunks in the middle and topped with fresh mango slices, berries and other fruits on top. This cake is $ 20 for a 8 inch(I think it was 8 inches… could be 6 inches) and they can finish making one within 40 minutes. Sadly, I have yet to try their other cakes. But you cannot go wrong with this one! O yes, I recommend getting this cake in the summer, as mangoes are much tastier during the summer time. And I also recommend eating this cake asap. Parking is free and right in front of the store.
