My transmission basically blew itself up — had my car towed here after reading some online reviews. Service was excellent, and they turned my car around in 3 days with a completely rebuilt transmission. Had to replace everything inside. I dealt with Rod, who showed me the innards they removed after I asked to see it, and he was more than willing to answer my questions. I did have an issue about 2 weeks afterwards with an oil leak, which they determined was a result of the transmission work, and Wilf took care of it with no questions or fuss. I grew up as a backyard mechanic, so I’m always wary when I need to get work done as I’ve met my fair share of shady/​incompetent mechanics. Wilf’s was great, I would definitely recommend them. They stand by their work with a great warranty as well.

I’m blown away at how fast they diagnosed the problem and had me on my way. Called them (based on previous positive Unilocal reviews) in the morning to say my 2000 Chevy Malibu tranny was stuck in 2^nd gear and was told to bring it in and they would have a look at it. Was worried it was going to be a major issue since I had no 3 or D. Wasn’t able to bring it in until lunch time but they immediately test drove it as I explained the issues I was experiencing. Had to wait for the technician to get back from lunch (no biggie), but as soon as he did he pulled a long list of trouble codes then quickly noticed a loose wire wasn’t properly plugged in. He snapped it back in and voila… all troubles codes were gone. I had just finished lunch myself when they called me and said come back and pick up your car, it’s fixed. I was flabbergasted to say the least. The car shifted smoother than it ever did and I wasn’t charged a cent for the service. Awesome. Thanks guys!

Big fan of these guys. Brought my 1977 Mercedes collector car to have the transmission rebuilt almost a year ago. Randomly just the other day while crawling along in lions gate traffic… The auto transmission got stuck in first gear. Brought the car back to Wilfs and in less than two days, the problem was diagnosed and fixed completely free of charge and under warranty. These guys put their customers first… it’s a refreshing experience. I’ll never go anywhere else for transmission work. A+

Being in the industry myself as a manager of another automotive shop, I must say that the guys at Wilf’s are outstanding. Anytime we send one of our client’s there for transmission repairs, the job is always done right the first time. And the staff are patient in explaining the job when you don’t understand how it works. Everyone is friendly with you, no matter how busy they are that day. They really are the experts of anything drivetrain related. Thanks Wilf for setting such a great example for our industry!

I’m a courier so I’ve had plenty of experience with mechanics and the fine gentlemen at wilfs are by far the best, I have dealt with. They are beyond kind, generous and fast and they back up there work 100%.
There isn’t enough good things that can be said about them. They set a high standard that can’t be beat.

This why I love Unilocal.A chance to point people in the right direction. Was recommened to use Wilf many years ago by a friend who ownes a tire dealership. Me and the friends that I recommended to use Wilf’s love these guys. Like some other reviewers said,. good old fashion customer service and honest feedback. They give you a sense they really care and won’t be overcharging or doing what isn’t needed.

My transmission began to fail and I limped my car into my local dealership to have it looked at. After some diagnostics they told me that to replace the transmission it would be $ 5,600.00! Plus tax! This was more than half the value of my vehicle, and sorry… no courtesy car provided.
I thought I’d try Wilf’s. 40 years in Business. A+ Better Business rating. They offered to get my car towed. Set me up with a courtesy car. They were professional and friendly. Great communication. And they quoted me exactly ½ of what the dealership quoted me for the repair, and then came in under their quote!
It would be hard to ask for a better customer experience. I see why their lot is packed. Thank you Wilf — this was a 5 star customer service experience.

Its wonderful to find a business with good old-​fashioned honesty. I had a potential problem with my transmission and was referred to Wilf’s. Brought the car in, discussed the problem and left it. A few hours later, had a call that they had not been able to find the problem, that it was probably not the transmission and I could pick up the car. Wilf told me of all the steps they had taken in trying to diagnose the problem, including several phone calls to other experts. In the end, Wilf refused to charge for all their efforts. In an industry full of scammers and incompetents, it was great to find good honest service. I will definitely be back with my next problem

After receiving a $ 1000+ quote from Volkswagen to replace a leaky transmission valve (yikes!), I decided to do some sleuthing to see if I could find something cheaper.
I did some calling around and found Wilf’s. From the get go, the first phone call, Rod and Wilf have been courteous and friendly to me and my precious car. They were able to look at the car quickly and were accommodating to my schedule. After they had my car for an hour or so, they patched up a miniscule leak, and didn’t charge me for it, but they asked to see me again in a month. No problem!
When a month passed, I called them back to schedule something and they remembered my car from a 5 second conversation, and checked it again for free. Now, I don’t need something to be free to feel like I’ve been offered great customer service, but I do need to feel taken care of, and NOT taken advantage of (I’m looking at you, VW, and yes, it’s with the stink eye!). I would gladly pay for services here if it was an appropriate and proportionate fix, which I feel like they would suggest if needed. Honesty really does pay!
