Went to a CVC charity fashion show here. I had gone to their show back in 2011 with some friends, and it was so good I figured we’d go again. Except, in 2011 CVC
booked it at Empire Landmark Hotel. They had a large room that fit everyone comfortably, nice chairs, and the acoustics were good. There was even a photo booth, and a wine bar.
Not sure if the people who organized the show this year were drunk when they decided to book this place. Because, apparently they didn’t notice that:
1. There’s 1 small toilet. You’re throwing a «cocktail hour» and fashion show, with that many guests, and you didn’t think that this would be a logistical issue? The lineup for it was huge.
(Not the venue’s fault, but we were super disappointed they used the word «cocktail hour» in their advertising, and there was no alcohol at the event. You didn’t have to have wine like in 2011, but don’t tease with cocktails, then not have cocktails.)
2. There was a giant wall in-​between the walkway and the audience. So those who had to sit on the other side of the wall, couldn’t see what was happening without looking at a projection screen.
You were good in 2011 CVC Fashion Show. What happened? The show fell faster than Lindsay Lohan’s career the past 3 years.
As for the studio itself, I guess it’s not their fault someone was crazy enough to book it for a fashion show. But I’m reading on their Unilocal «From The Business» description right now, and it says, «Specialties, Photography & Filming Studio /​Art & Fashion Shows and Events.»
So, maybe they told the organizers that they could host a fashion show, and the organizers were too drunk/​hungover to actually show up to this place to check it out. Because, you can’t really host a decent fashion show here. A photoshoot definitely, maybe an art showing. But I’m not a big fan of going to any place where if I need to pee, I have to lineup like I’m auditioning for American Idol.
To their credit, their kitchen was remodeled very nicely. I have a thing for good kitchen designs.
