Got a newspaper article custom framed for $ 140 but the paper didn’t sit flat in the end. Wendy said she discussed foam mounting with me as an option to make it flat but that wasn’t true and she kept blaming me for forgetting. Not a big deal technically since I wasn’t charged for it and it can be done after the fact any time. However I don’t trust Wendy to own up to issues with the final product, particularly at the price she charges. I would not give her business again.

I had a couple of paintings I needed framed and bought a Groupon for Wendy Berry Custom Framing to try out the shop as a previous framing job I had done elsewhere was just okay. I am so pleased that I tried out Wendy Berry Custom Framing and only regret not knowing about her earlier. She is fabulous! I have now had two framing jobs done by Wendy and I am thrilled with both. Wendy took the time to go over several options and was very understanding and accommodating when I made a change on my first framing job after the order was put in. The pricing is very fair without the Groupon and a deal with the voucher. I would not hesitate taking any of my paintings in to have them framed here.

I bought a couple of prints online and instead of trying to do it myself and inevitably messing it up, I enlisted the help of a professional. Wendy was great, she really took the time to help pick out the right colour matting and frame. She was helpful and patient even when I told her I had a Groupon, which is usually when the shop owners usually turn a little snarky. Prices were fair and even without a Groupon, I will be going back next time I need anything framed!

I wanted to get a print framed as a surprise for a friend, so I looked for local vouchers to save a little money. I came across a Groupon for Wendy Berry Custom Framing so I went ahead and bought one. In my experience, businesses who offer vouchers via Groupon, SocialShopper, etc. often cut corners. I usually leave feeling that while the product or service was worth the price of the voucher, it was not worth the full price without a voucher. Wendy Berry Custom Framing is one of the rare exceptions where I left feeling that the final product was absolutely worth the full price. After sneaking off with what I thought was my friend’s single print(it turned out to be two), I brought it over to Wendy and she went over possible options for framing them. The prints were very different from each other, and Wendy accommodatingly went over some options with me and came up with some beautiful frame and matting ideas for each of them. I had never gotten anything framed professionally before and I was very excited to see the results from the moment I left the prints with Wendy. I was not disappointed. A week later, I picked up the two framed prints and the results were beautiful. Each print was in a different frame with different coloured mats that complemented and enhanced them perfectly. I highly recommend Wendy Berry Custom Framing should you need anything professionally framed.

If you have a photo or painting that’s special enough to be deemed ‘suitable for framing’, then your best bet is to leave it in the capable hands of a real pro. In the past, I’ve made the mistake of doing it myself and it just never looked right, no matter how much time and money I put into the exercise. I heard about Wendy Berry’s shop(located in the Doctor Vigari gallery on Commercial Drive) and decided to let her frame a particularly fragile, one-of-a-kind piece that I was too chicken to tackle myself. She was so cool, patiently explaining a few different options and ultimately coming up with a truly inspired solution. She has an excellent eye for colour and scale, being a well-known artist to begin with, which explains the attention to detail and beautiful result. Would definitely use her again.(email — )
