ZERO stars I can’t comment on their actual services but they get a big fat ZERO for professionalism. Let’s just say I would never let these people anywhere near my head with a pair of scissors. Here’s what happened: I bought a Groupon for $ 100 for hair straightening at VIP salon. Before buying, I did my due diligence. I phoned the salon, described my hair(shoulder-length, slightly wavy) to see if there would be any extra charges. They said no, so I bought the Groupon and made an appointment for a 5pm straightening. I asked if this would be enough time since they close at 6, and they said yes, since my hair wasn’t very long. The day of my appointment, VIP salon phoned me 2 hours beforehand and asked if I could come in early, like right away. I said no because I have to work but I’d try to get there as soon as possible. The person on the other end didn’t say a word(weird) and passed the phone to someone else, who said to me, «How long is your hair?» «It just touches my shoulders,» I said. «Is it curly?» «No,» I said, «It just has a bit of a wave.» «That will be a hundred dollars extra.» What??? A hundred dollars EXTRA? You call me to tell me this two hours before my appointment, after assuring me when I bought the Groupon that there would be no extra charge? I was shocked. I told her I wasn’t interested and she just hung up, without so much as an explanation or apology. Are they charging me overtime because I couldn’t come in earlier? Very disappointing. These people really need to take a course on proper business practices. Until they do, I certainly wouldn’t trust them with any chemicals or pointy objects, even at double the price.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I purchased a $ 29 Groupon for a haircut, 5 foil highlights and moroccan oil treatment and styling. When I got there I was told this was worth $ 220 and I would have to pay tax on the original price. So a $ 29 groupon turned into a $ 50 affair that was definitely not worth it. First, the highlights … she asked what colour I wanted and i said a lighter brown which seems easy enough(especially since it’s only 5 foils anyway). With most salons they bring out the colour book for you to choose what shade you’re going for, but she just came out with the dye and started at my hair. Then for the moroccon treatment you get your hair washed and sit under the dryer on a very uncomfortable office chair. And to top it all off, the haircut was HORRIBLE! She gave me a side fringe by cutting my bangs once. That’s it! No blending or anything… just one quick snip. I asked for a trip of 1 inch b/c I was already skeptical of what she could do and it turned out to be 2 inches and the layers were uneven. I was in and out of there in 55 minutes. DONOTGOHERE! This place is not worth saving the money by going somewhere that will provide a service you could be happy with.

Metro paper showed a deal from this salon for $ 29 that comes with a haircut, 5foil highlights, moroccan oil… etc.(Sometimes if it sounds too good then it is too good to be true) Because that’s where I got my beautiful long hair disastrously done by this«hairdresser» named Frank. I left feeling my hair odd. Told him I wanted the length to remain but he ended up breaking all the basic rules a hairdresser should never broke. E. g In creating the layers, one should start from the bottom and slowly go to the top of the hair(but what he did was took half of my hair and cut it short and left the rest of my hair long) I went home feeling my hair and it was horrible. NEVER again will I go back to him. Of course I called to complain, but really nothing I could have done. He told me to go back to him and he can check it. After hanging up, I knew I am not going to let him fix my already terribly done hair. I saw a groupon deal with Jason David Hair Studio and went there to fix it. They did an awesome job. At the end I paid $ 37 for this VIP salon & spa(which was HORRIBLE) and paid $ 40 for my wonderfully done hair at Jason David Hair Studio. The differences? Jason David Hair Studio is a higher end salon but prices are really affordable(Fantastic services + highly professional) P.s Check out both their websites.
