Unity Yoga is an inclusive space for people to share yoga, tea, and good company. Our class sizes are small enough that you get the attention you need, and our cozy tearoom is warm and inviting with an attendant waiting to answer all of your questions. We serve proprietary herbal tea blends, sell clothing and accessories as well as a selection of yoga props and mats. We value sustainability and pride ourselves on being paperless and eco-​friendly in our space. Come for Yoga. Stay for Tea.

History

Established in 2006.

Looking for a more down to earth space to practice, Susan opened Unity Yoga with the intention of making yoga more accessible to all people. She now leads an inclusive community founded on authentic connections and supportive friendships, holding space for the many colours and cultures of the Commercial Drive community.

In addition to daily public drop in classes, Unity Yoga also offers private classes for community mental health, at-​risk youth, ESL students and children.

Susan H.

Business Owner

A follower of the Tao, Susan teaches both yin and yang styles of yoga, believing that both are required for a balanced practice. Having completed over 500 hours of training in different traditions, her classes are a fusion of the flowing grace of Ashtanga Vinyasa, the alignment principles of Anusara, and the energetic vibrations of Kundalini and Qi Gong. Yin Yoga and insight meditation are her passion, offering balance through the practice of stillness, self-​inquiry and awareness.
