If I could give this place 10 stars I would. This review is long overdue as I’ve been going to TOM on and off(more«off») since 2013. Whenever I’d return after a hiatus, I was always welcomed back by a squeal and a nice hug from the owner Martina(who’s there 99% of the time). The rest of her team of instructors and trainers there are all amazing and super friendly. Since recent renos, the space has more room for larger classes and I’ve never felt cramped. What I love most about this place is the owner Martina who is a GODDESS — she is the epitome of health and fitness and is the absolute best at mentoring and guiding her«students». She pushes you hard and has eyes in the back of her head to correct poor form– even with a full class she will catch you slacking! I encouraged my hubby and a good friend to join and they’re both very happy with it. I love this place and will continue to be a member until I leave the city.

I’ve been going to Train on Main for about a month now. I lift on my own so I don’t take any of the classes. The photo that is posted basically show you the whole space — there are no other rooms. The space is small, but used wisely. The 7 brand spanking new power racks that line the sides of the room are consistent with the owner Martina’s mantra — strong is the new skinny. I couldn’t agree more. While I don’t participate in the group workouts themselves, I see them posted around the gym, and as a person who used to Crossfit, I can tell you that they are no joke. If you are interested in those kind of workouts, they will have them here for you. I’ve also seen Martina conduct personal training sessions and she’s great with her clients — adjusting the plan according to the person. There are no treadmills, but who needs a treadmill when you can run outside? Indoors, there are 8 or so brand new spinning machines if you prefer to stay inside. No concept 2 rower though. There are some things I’d like to see — i.e. weighted vest, glute-ham machine, seated row machine, corebar, but I’m just being picky … in light of the best part … Drop in is $ 5. Repeat Drop in to use the facility is $ 5!!! The rest of the prices are transparent and on the website(unlike most places). No memberships are required, and if you got a membership there are no initiation fees. No initiation fees. No contract. Not too many places you can find that. They have water, towels, and if you are the only one working out, you can put your ipod into the speaker system and blast your tunes. Awesome. Now for the second best part. Hours are flexible. Sometimes you might drive by and see that it appears closed. All you have to do is to give Martina a call, and she will open up the gym for you no problem. You might find better(I’ll review Studeo 55 soon), but you’ll have to pay a lot more for it. I almost feel guilty telling the world about this place, because part of me wants to keep it all to myself.

I was looking for a place to get fit that was cost effective, close to home and did not rely 100% on self motivation. Train On Main proved to be a perfect combination of the above. The options available are spot on — lots of instructor led classes, optional one-on-one or group training sessions or the ability to show up and work out pretty much whenever you like. The pricing options are also really flexible, from a $ 99 ‘all you can eat’ type monthly fee to individual personal training sessions, there are options for all budgets and requirements. For me, the owner, Martina Yabekova, is why this place deserves 5 stars. She is a friendly, witty and dedicated business owner who has massive experience in the strength/fitness business. She is a great motivator and her positive attitude keeps you coming back for more. Strong is the new skinny!

Tons of different classes available for those who enjoy the group fitness atmosphere. Classes include: kettle bell training, yoga, spinning, crossfit, boot-camp, circuit training and more. Personalized workout plans can also be provided by Martina and feel free to drop in whenever you like and work out at your own pace. Martina is super nice(although she may look intimidating), water and towels are also available. Equipment is all brand new and really nice. Small space but a great bunch of people and you receive more attention from your trainer due to smaller class sizes. Kids classes are available on some afternoons
