My childhood bakery, this place is as delightful as it’s moniker. A real community hub (even for it’s limited space), even the most adamant Atkin’s fan would be unable to resist the freshly baked bread wafting out the doors and drawing in Mackenzie Heights locals.
You’ll come in for a loaf of bread and leave with a dozen bird’s nest cookies, his cheese rolls, seasonal (adorable) sugar cookies and a rekindled sweet tooth. The head baker, Rob, is the friendliest guy in town so if you have a moment and he’s not swamped, stop and chat.

We decided to do Halloween cookie decorating as an activity for an event we were putting on. My colleague ordered 200 cookies in chocolate and vanilla in random shapes and she must have told him that we were going to decorate them with coloured frosting. So what does he do? He threw in the frosting IN piping bags for free of 4 different colours! And on top of that, when we went to pick them up and pay for the order, he charged us less than what he quoted us, knowingly! It was so kind of him.
I really recommend totally 100% supporting this business because it’s really hard to find genuine people running these kinds of down-​to-​earth businesses these days. The bread there is pretty good and so are the shortbread cookies! I’ll go here more often for my baked good needs.
